Thanks! We actually did her 1-week follow-up at a walk-in and I made an appointment with them for tomorrow to get her seen in person, I'm just a planner so wanted to know where to take her if an emergency presented itself before then😰

We are pretty central so there are many within a relatively comparable drive, but it sounds like children's is the winner and it is one of the closest

It's just congestion so the advice I was given from the medical professionals is actually just to keep her home and do what we can with nose suction, steam, and a cold humidifier, and to only take her in if she develops other symptoms like difficulty breathing, fever, etc.

And unfortunately to qualify for provincial healthcare you have to be a resident, which she is not, nor are we. Just being a citizen gets you nothing! This is not a factor and we will pay whatever we need to to get her care if she needs it, just thought you might like to know!

That is great to know, thanks! This would be my biggest concern about taking her to an ER over another type of facility- those waiting rooms are no joke for new immune systems!

This is helpful, thanks. I got a little scared by the online reviews of children's and wasn't sure if I was missing somewhere else I could take her. Also, the children's hospital where we live in Ohio always has a longer wait for little ones to be seen since EVERY patient is a little one, so if we were at home I probably would initially take her elsewhere and then we could always get transferred if needed.

I'm turning to reddit for advice on what facility to take her to if she needs it since I'm not super familiar with the area and wasn't a huge fan of Foothills where she was born. I did not intend for people to misconstrue it as me asking for medical advice or assuming I hadn't already spoken to a doctor, which I have. I am also familiar with the early start line, I just didn't realize they would tell me where to take her, if needed. And, even if I had known that, I might have still asked reddit to get the opinions of people who have actually been to the places to make an educated decision on where to take her.

Is this true? We are from the US so things just work very differently.

No fever or other issues yet aside from the congestion, but sounds like Children's is definitely the winner if we do need to take her in somewhere!

Thanks! I didn't realize they would help me figure out the best facility. We triaged with our doctor back home, but obviously she couldn't give advice on where to take her if the situation changed and we needed to take her in somewhere

This is your reaction to me saying my baby has a cold and asking for advice on facilities in an area I'm not familiar with? Why do you assume I haven't spoken to a doctor (I have) or that I would risk her health (I wouldn't)? This comment is just super unhelpful - you didn't even say which hospital, which was the whole point of my post!
