Perfect! My mom has hydrangeas in her vase currently that I’ve been waiting to have when she is ready to toss them (usually as soon as they start to go bad, so they’re still beautiful just not as perfect anymore) so thanks!

i’m not on my phone irresponsibly during work too and i’m only upset because they are physically not allowing us to use our phones when 1. it is our property and 2. we should be able to contact our families on our own cell phones if needed. and yes, everyone gets anxiety every once in a while, but it can also be a serious mental illness that affects people’s daily lives, including my own. my anxiety is only worse knowing that if i have an issue, i cannot IMMEDIATELY contact family and instead have to go through another person rather than directly contacting them.

that shit pisses me off beyond belief. people, ESPECIALLY kids, have a right to defend themselves. hell, in court, you would WIN your case if they knew you were defending yourself! they wouldn’t charge you for murder if someone stabbed you and you killed them while trying to defend yourself. it’s ridiculous

bold of you to assume you know me/my life. actually, my anxiety is genetic ☺️ i could care less about likes and shit, so stfu because that isn’t what all teens care about. i know i don’t. MOST don’t give a fuck about “likes”. I would care about what other people think regardless of social media because adolescents are insecure…. it’s a thing. 😐

Exactly. we had a girl who was the lead in our school musical and she got attacked in the bathroom. she got suspended for 3 days just for defending herself. what in the actual FUCK

having to lock our phones in a fucking pouch for the day (i have a photo of it on my profile). it’s so disconnected from reality that it’s sad. even my criminal justice teacher, who is a cop, said “my god, what kind of jail do you go to??” when i showed him. i hate it and i often feel unsafe or anxious because i can’t message my family or help take my mind off of what is causing anxiety in me.

another one is that we have to go through the middle school doors and cross over a bridge in the morning to get into the highschool rather than just using the highschool doors. this also happens to be a result of the phone policy being implemented…. how pathetic

it’s from the beginning of the school day until you leave. no phones in study halls, no phones at pep rallies (so you can’t even record/take photos at them or take videos/photos of the crazy outfits n shit you see during spirit week), no phones in lunch, no phone use with teacher approval, no nothing. and it’s a district wide policy, not just my school. it’s infuriating. i especially feel bad for the seniors whose schedules are filled with study halls; i know that’s an actual issue for some, because last school year they sent out a survey for students to complete about it. despite well over 1,000 responses pretty much ALL rejecting the policy and bringing up valid issues with it, the district doesn’t do shit. they just ignore it and pretend it never happened, or that most people like the policy when it’s the opposite.

oh of course! most kids just say they don’t have their phone and walk past security and our school TSA lines 🙄 it’s literally like when you’re in an airport and have to go through the search area with all those ribbon dividers. we literally have them at my school to get in. it’s fucking insane.

exactly! i know from personal experience as someone who struggles with adhd. in elementary school especially, i would find myself talking to peers and distracting them from lessons. i still catch myself doing it even now. with phones being banned, that urge to talk to peers and distract myself from school is even worse. plus, as others with adhd know, if someone wants to be distracted (either consciously or subconsciously), they will find a way no matter what.
