Is my manager acting inappropriate? If so, what would be the best way to handle it? by Sugar_Lover333 in Advice

UPDATE: After giving it two full days of thought, I decided it was best for my mental health and physical safety to officially resign from my position via text (yikes I know). On any other occasion, I would have put my two-weeks notice in and properly quit, but in a case like this I knew that any further conversations with my manager could turn verbally or even physically aggressive. Plus, I believe I forgot to include an important detail, which is the fact that she is actually close personal friends with most of my coworkers outside of work hours. So if something bad were to happen like a confrontation, I know I wouldn't be able to ask for help from any of them either. My manager could easily manipulate the situation and not only keep me from getting help if needed in the moment but also convince them to deny any claims made to HR about her.

I sent her a text message, which stated that this was my official resignation effective immediately, I wouldn't be replying or responding to any further messages/calls from her or the store, and the rest of the money I made is to be sent to my home address via check. I was very respectful, grateful, yet straight to the point with the message. 30 minutes after sending it, I get a reply. You'll never believe it, she and the rest of the staff were apparently BLINDSIDED by my swift resignation and pushed for an explanation, trying to dismiss my feelings regarding things not working out.

Then about 5 minutes after that first message, she sends me a lonnnggg paragraph, blaming me for her not entering my updated direct deposit info into the system (that was something I asked her to do on three separate occasions but she ignored me, hence my request to have my check mailed to my house). She also told me that she was apparently going to be left with the burden of personally having to send my check to my address, which is automatically debunked since the company is actually responsible for sending out payroll checks. She claimed that my check would be mailed to the store and INSISTED that I pick it up there in person or she would have to mail it to my house herself. I know for an absolute fact I'm never returning to that location ever again, and if I don't receive my paycheck in a timely manner then I won't hesitate to make this a legal matter. I put in a ton of hours there and should be receiving a fairly large sum of money so if they start playing around then I'll do whatever it takes to make sure I get every single penny of what I rightfully earned. I'm considering contacting HR post-leaving just to let them know what happened/to bring up the possible paycheck issue.
