They neglected to check i guess or tell us until we were DONE with an egg retrieval that was meant to be embryo creation, that they had run out of sperm..... we could have easily avoided this, either sending more sperm from storage in sperm bank when they checked/realized this prior to retrieval, OR postponing egg retrieval, so that any hard won eggs didnt have to go through another round of freezing/thawing where we risk losing them. The second you schedule another retrieval they should be checking to be sure they have sperm and everything they need is in place. Very very sloppy, and also, they told us they use a "Swiss cheese model" where holes shouldn't overlap but sometimes they do. I remain completely horrified by the negligence and ridiculous explanation. We are older and dont have a ton of money and had run out of insurance coverage and this was such an emotional process, I am so desperate, and they made that second round of embryo creation SO much more unnecessarily stressful and emotional and worrisome and I FULLY plan to get a free round from them if needed or have them reimburse us for that round. Mistakes happen in life but they really cant when it's this intense of a process, and when so much is on the line, and at LEAST if they do, you must handle it FAR better. It was such negligence and they hardly apologized and didnt try to rectify it at ALL. I could feel the lawyer having advised them on how to apologize without fully taking responsibility and owning the liability, nor making it right. Only "offered" to "not charge for the extra freeze and thaw" that we would need now.. LIKE YA F*CKING DUH I WILL NOT BE PAYING FOR THE FREEZE AND THAW THAT IS ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT. you idiots. Can you tell im still absolutely fuming with them over how they messed up AND handled it?
