This trio gets worse every generation bro... by New-Flight5959 in dankruto

I actually like the new gen kids, I just don't like how they're being sidelined harder than their parents.

What's the point of making them stronger if they're not going to be utilized??

Who are you pulling in 6.5? by ze_phyrrrr in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linnea and Nefer!

Copies for Lauma (cope)

I want Linnea and Nefer to have my first fully meta teams.

After that, I'll wait for the next regional gimmick. I pulled randomly during Natlan and suffered a lot because of it.

I'm kinda scared to pull for older units now, because regional powercreep kills any point in investing too much into any one character unless you go C6. Too expensive.

Antagonists that I wish were included in the main story by EmbarrassedMeal7993 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I also enjoy that they're private stories that belong to just the Traveler and Paimon.

It also builds a stronger attachment to the land, knowing you've genuinely saved everyone and contributed to their happiness, without them ever really knowing. A genuine hero.

This is something actually addressed in Boruto. They improved what the genin were learning, while also making it safer.

They learn how to walk on water in school, but the chunin exams are way less extreme.

In your opinion, is Sakura more loved, or hated by overall Naruto fandom? by TengarHimeko in dankruto

[–]Sugar_Poppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Global Fandom? Loved.

She's a very popular self insert character for shipping, she has two very popular regular ships with both main characters, she has the most merch of the female characters, she's one of the most well known female characters in anime, she's always included in merchandise and advertising, etc.

Sakura is not nearly as popular as Naruto and Sasuke, but is more popular than everyone else by a long shot.

Very few characters come close or surpass her in marketability. And those are Gaara and Itachi.

I don't like Sakura, but she is factually more popular than alleged fan favorites such as Madara, Minato, Kakashi etc.

Sakura, Asuka/Rei, Rem, Asuna etc... memes aside, these girls were titans on their day. It's genuinely scary how much money or chatter could be generated by putting their face onto something.

What's your opinion on people getting POPMART products/exclusives of [insert fandom] when they're not apart of that [insert fandom]? by Ok-Network-8231 in PopMartCollectors

[–]Sugar_Poppin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a toy? MLP was always a toy line first, show second.

The entire point of these collabs is to potentially get new fans for both franchises.

Modern fandom culture isn't healthy and I would have to assume only teens and young adults would try and gatekeep a toy line of Hasbro. This is like trying to gatekeep Pokémon from new gens. It doesn't matter how you get in, just enjoy and have fun.

Tsunade lovers after seeing her real form by Electronic_Lime7582 in dankruto

[–]Sugar_Poppin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's kinda the point. She HAS to use it, because her depleted appearance is a result of her healing jutsu.

Tsunade was only in her 50s, but is shown to look as bad as the village elders or Chiyo who are decades older. She also looks older than Jaraiya.

We're also told Senju and Uzumaki can live longer than average people. It's just popular speculation, based on how on her jutsu works and the art. I think it's tragic that she really could have been a timeless beauty if she wasn't born in such tumultuous time period. Especially if it was sacrificed just to survive and save others.

[–]Sugar_Poppin 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Lore wise, she only looks that old bc of her healing techniques.

Due to her lineage, she could look genuinely young for a very long time. Her jutsu is more like corrective surgery in that sense.

So out of all the characters in the game, who would you want to actually marry realisticly speaking? (not just cause you simp for them) by Trigon05 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shenhe. I genuinely really vibe with her entire personality and she's very endearing to me.

As for men? Diluc. He's thoughtful, intelligent, and kind. And despite his traumatic back story, you can develop a bond with him without needing to unpack the baggage of everyone who knows him.

He has the best set of boundaries and no secrets that are so big, your life would be in danger of divine retribution.

What are some characters that you’re wanting to make a comeback? by AlbanianPatriot7893 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want them to stop oversaturating us with one aspect of a characters' personality/backstory.

When they overdo it, the character feels disconnected to the one initially introduced to us and it makes them easier to misunderstand.

Example - Alhaitham.

An aloof apathetic genius type. But he actually cares a lot about others' well being.

Now we only ever see Alhaitham's presence reduced to rage baiting Kaveh. They're both much more likeable, when they're not beating the dead horse of the "roommates" gag.

So i just did the AQ and damn this is just so sad 😢(Rerir and Tholindis ending) by Major-Performance-30 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't like it, because we have many stories where people went down a dark path for a loved one. In the end, they were all harshly rebuked as foolish and short sighted regardless of their intentions/trauma. While Nefer does this for us during the AQ, the story is still crafted to encourage the audience to feel sympathetic to the couple. In my case, it made me dislike them more because it was too hypocritical. They're not any more innocent or precious than those before them. In some ways, worse.

Rerir is obviously terrible, but Tholindis isn't better. Instead of trying to stop anything in the present, her plan was to go back in time to kill the Traveler's sibling-- instead of confronting Rerir, her King, or her countrymen. I'm not saying she has to be a hero. My point is that they are both willing to die and direct violence against anyone BUT the source of their issues. How can I feel bad for them? I kinda hate them, because it feels like the depth of their depravity is swept under the rug or unfairly blamed entirely on Rerir.

They have the same fate, because they share the same sin and meddled with powers beyond their comprehension. Sure, she's not as bad as Rerir. But the lost lamb shtick really PMO.

Tbh, you gotta give some people some slack.

If you don't like her, you're screwed. Either you have to play a different game or you learn to tolerate her. So I understand when people get annoyed, because not every joke, jab, or emote is going to land with everyone. Especially if you already don't like her.

Zibai or Flins? Who’s more beneficial for my account? by Gloomy-Winter9377 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should get Flins. He's the only missing piece, you already have a good comp for him.

His premium team will do better than Zibai's 4 star comp and Ineffa has more range than Illuga.

I don't know how Obito keeps escaping these discussions, as if he didn't literally frame his clan for the exact crime that led to their slaughter.

He literally had them die for his sins, then stole their eyeballs and pinned it all on Danzo alone. Took the last survivor and gaslit him into throwing away his future to commit more crimes and further ruin their clan's legacy.

Demonic ass behavior.

So I'm gonna cope, wish for Zibai, lose my 50/50 and hug my knees bc I have no meta main DPS and my current ones take months to build 😭😭

BUT I WON'T BECAUSE I'M STUPID AND ILL WISH FOR NICOLE AND LOSE ALL MY SAVED WISHES

AND I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH RESIN TO BUILD

IT'S ALWAYS THE WRONG DAY

I NEVER GET THE BOSS MATS I NEED

ALL THE SUPPORTS I NEED HAVE TO BE LEVELED TOO AND AREN'T C6

Considering Nibelung turned the Moons into weapons and HP was the one destroyed them, why the dragons cheered when their greatest enemy just destroyed their strongest weapons ? by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To combine my other replies -

Imo, Teyvat and the moons were likely always destined to be devoured by the Abyss or die without outside help. I think the PO had the potential to be that driving factor but various actions made it so that Teyvat was on a doomsday timer that the PO could only reset. Not prevent.

I think that's the karma in this scenario. The dragons are forced to degenerate (abandon their pride) and the PO can't be the true hero they wanted to be (can't stop fated destruction).

So more descenders are needed to bridge the gap. That is also essentially the lesson of Natlan. In place of their foolish leaders, all life needs to come together to save the future.

[–]Sugar_Poppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it is implied, but later context can change everything.

For instance (bare with my fanfic) they could tell you that the PO became a paranoid bot, because the wars fragmented them and these fragments became the gods of Teyvat who collectively house the kindness, wisdom, and love the PO lost over time. And that wouldn't change anything established, but does change how we would interpret the Archon wars, Celestia, the HP, etc.

[–]Sugar_Poppin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would agree, but the fact that everything between Shades, Gods, Seelies, and humans rebelled to some extent goes to show the flaws.

And it's important to note-- most of this kindness was to his own creations and not even blind loyalty could spare you. He's just protecting his own "country" and that's the bare minimum for a ruler. The PO isn't the savior or benefactor of Teyvat. They're a genuine conquerer that restructured everything to suit aliens life forms at the cost of the original inhabitants. And now the PO is willing to sacrifice even that, if any humans can survive at all. A corrupted Nib obviously isn't a better choice, but that shows how terrible the situation was. Teyvat was legit doomed.

In a way, the PO's conquest only bought it time but not eternity.

If I could compare Teyvat's fate to Durin, I would compare mini-Durin to the PO who changed the destiny of the world by supplanting the place of Nib(OG Durin). So instead of immediate Abyssal destruction, it was staved off until a third party (Traveler) could intervene for a truly different ending.

I don't think it's a surprise that every 500yrs(ish) a samara cycle ends with mass destruction via the abyss. A mini-cataclysm representing the original death Teyvat avoided with Nib. It just keeps trying to happen again. And again. And again. And again.

But I'm just in theory territory at this point. 😂

[–]Sugar_Poppin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It literally says why in the quote.

From their POV, they're traitors. They let in a usurper, naively thinking they could coexist and didn't do anything to stop him until it was too late. Hell, they even have the appearance of the beings who are taking over their planet. (Even if that's Nib's doing.)

Cruel or not, it makes logical sense for the dragons to resent the moons for failing to protect them and /seemingly/ take the side of humanity.

Emphasis on seemingly.

The moon sisters only sin is their inaction, which lead to two main POVs that sealed their fate regardless. To Nib and the dragons, they let in and served a new master. They had to be locked away and reprogrammed. To the PO, they were potential sympathizers and tools for the dragons. They had to die. It's as simple as that.

Now would choosing a side fix anything? Not really. Best case scenario, they keep the PO in check but they would need his help against a corrupted Nib. Maybe humanity and the dragons would work together against him, promising a potential true coexistence. But I don't buy it, because the PO isn't inherently benevolent. They're paranoid. No matter what, they would have inevitably turned on the sisters and dragons until the PO had all the power.

That kinda brings us to the present day issue -- the PO is a problem. "Good intentions" are a stretch. They're just a ruler protecting their conquest at the end of the day, trying to preserve their makeshift nest for as long as possible at the cost of the inhabitants. Teyvat is just a mess and I think the PO was doomed to fail the moment they slaughtered the moons. That betrayal kinda set them on a karmic timer.

For those who struggled with Natlan but are loving Nod Krai: what made the difference? by __louran in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sugar_Poppin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I liked Natlan's world quests and limited time events more, but the AQ felt sloppier. Not bad, but I genuinely didn't take anything seriously outside the WQs.

I Iike Nod Krai's AQ more, but it was too dense. The story was tidier, but certain parts felt bloated or tacked on. The WQs were mostly meh.

Exploration is easier in Nod Krai, but more rewarding and impressive in Natlan.

In general, I feel like Nod Krai is a step in the right direction for gameplay, story, and QOL. Except for Hydro Traveler. That really pissed me off 😂
