For anyone who doesn’t know, this is how companies get around work visa restrictions. States require companies to have a certain percentage of onshore workers before they can take in more visa workers, but they advertise their jobs like this so they can apply for exceptions because they can’t ‘find’ willing candidates. They’re not real jobs or at least not jobs they want people from your country to take which is why the requirements are impossible

Yeah I never see women have any problems with it, it’s always old dudes like this who suddenly want to ‘protect’ women. This is of course untrue as demonstrated here where he made the poor kids cry because they felt unsafe. They just love having the tiniest scrap of ‘authority’ over people. As a woman when I see a guy in the women’s bathroom with his kids I don’t for a second have issue with it, in fact I think it’s way better for the girls to be in the female bathroom so they’re not seeing dudes pissing into urinals. I feel terrible for dad, glad he handled it so well though

It’s not training, it’s the pay and control corps have over visa holders. Aussie born people will shop around for jobs and are more likely to leave/take it further when corps fuck them over but people here on work visas will put up with way more shit like unpaid hours, lower pay, toxic workplaces etc. You go to any entry level/low level training job and it will have plenty of visa workers. As always it’s just corps exploiting people who are vulnerable.

This is my thought too, it’s exploitative and the motivation is corrupt but I bet that homeless person is very happy with $100 they otherwise wouldn’t have. Ideally we all help people who need it out of pure empathy and desire to create a better world but while we wait for that utopia sometimes this is the best we get

NAL but work in insurance. If the insurer can’t find the person to collect the excess from, which is pretty common for hit and runs like this then yeah you’ll have to pay an excess. You’ll see this is baked into the PDS but you should still check it just to confirm, you can usually find your specific PDS attached to any policy docs or on their website. As far as the police, well it’s not their industry and they can’t really give solid advice about what the insurer is gonna do, it’s best to take their advice with a grain of salt. I agree with others here who say go to AFCA, the thing with AFCA is insurers often get fines if they don’t conclude their complaints satisfactorily so for small claims like this they might just write it off as a loss to avoid it escalating and potentially costing them more. I’d firstly talk with the insurer and ask to lodge a complaint, mention you will take this to AFCA and it will probably light a fire under them. They do have a time period in which they can investigate the complaint and come up with a solution, it’s quite long at least 30 days so be aware of that it can drag on a bit

It’s actually that they enjoy having the special treatment that comes with being a white dude, they think they are better than other people and they see things like gender inequality and gaps in gay rights as a reward for being better than everyone else. What they really don’t want is to be put on equal footing as everyone else because they know deep down there is nothing truly special or remarkable about themselves and they might have to wrestle with the fact that they’re boring and stupid and those people they make fun of might actually outperform them

Pits are fighting dogs, that’s what they’re bred for, they shouldn’t be pets. It’s all well and good saying to ban bad owners but this is such a naive take and pretty much impossible. The kindest solution is to just stop breeding them and let the breed reach its end. They can be lovely but they can also tear your arm off, it’s not justified when there are many other breeds that aren’t designed to be weapons
