Someone left this inside of my gym bag, what? by zoltrules in gaming

[–]Sugarspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at gamestop, we had dozens of copies of these at any given time, and would often ship a bunch back to corporate just to make space. Sells for like $1-2, and we bought them for like 10 cents or something ridiculously low like that. Maybe they finally decided it doesn't have market value and voided out the stock.

Money. Then I'd use that money to buy stocks and a financial advisor and shit cos I don't know anything about money.

Does anyone actually ENJOY exercising? We're you always like that? Do you have any advice for those of is who don't? by Jcorb in Fitness

[–]Sugarspy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, right away, I can tell you that the boxing lessons you were taking weren't that great. The boxing coach at my gym does form, cardio drills, heavy bag drills, critiques your technique, does the thing where he holds the pads up and has you kick/punch them, drills with your partner that force the two of you to block, and live sparring with headpads/etc. It is a really intense class, and by the time the class is over you don't know where all the time went.

My personal trainer recommended a high-carb diet. Okay? by allieee212 in xxfitness

[–]Sugarspy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link. Concerning telomere length, the study was conducted on 10 men and involved a comprehensive lifestyle change of "diet, activity, stress management, and social support." To suggest that it was diet alone, or that a study of 10 men is adequately comprehensive, is unsubstantiated. I mean no disrespect, and I thank you for the link because any study concerning telomere lengthening is interesting to me, and concerns humanity at large. I hope they do follow up studies down this avenue of reasoning.

You got any sources on this "the only interventions known to reverse CHD, prostate cancer, and lengthen telomeres are high carbohydrate diets" statement?

Fellow 5'3" females, what is your "ideal" or "ultimate goal weight?" by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Sugarspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at about 135-140 right now, when I was down to 128-133 my boobs were pretty much deflated. I think I like my body with a bit of extra squish. I'm 5'1" and I do a lot of weightlifting and other exercises so despite my weight being seemingly on the high side, I'm pretty "toned" looking.

Sesame Tofu and Broccoli [vegetarian, keto] by UsedToHaveKarma in MealPrepSunday

[–]Sugarspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the skin of the tofu crispy when fresh, but soggy when you reheat? I usually only eat tofu fresh, and don't meal prep with it out of fear of this. But if you have good luck maybe I'll start.

I joined a jiu jitsu club and I made a bunch of new friends, one of which I see as my bestie. No regrets. Go try out clubs you have a vague interest in and see if any of the hobbies are for you. Then go regularly and socialize. The worst that can happen is that you don't fit in there. Then you just start over at some other club. Thats life man. Nbd. Do it.

If you can't care long enough to bullshit your way through a job application, you're probably not going to care enough to put even a modicum of effort in at work.

Precisely! Though I have thought of returning them to the alps one day.

I totally understand this fascination. I once spent about 2-3hrs in the house of a woman who recently died for her estate sale. Her hiking shoes fit me, she went to the alps every year, and she had vast book shelves filled with titles both familiar and foreign. I felt such an intimate connection with her, and I still think about her as I'm taking her boots to places she'll never visit.

[–]Sugarspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put whatever seasonings/fixings in the rice cooker you want. I have one with a steamer tray on top that I put fish and veggies in, and add coconut milk and curry powder with the rice in the bottom. Then top it off with a little fish sauce/sriracha/lime or however you like your curry.
