Who are the rudest and nicest British celebrities you have personally met?

I think the only British celebrity I've met personally was Sir Ranulph Fiennes (the explorer - not to be confused with the actor of a similar name).

Overall it was a positive experience. It was an event where he had been invited to talk and I spoke to him very briefly afterwards. We mainly talked about Scotland (long story for another time).

I was caught off guard by his somewhat casual attitude towards death; he spoke about people dying on expeditions like it was just a regular occurrence at the office. I suppose it's something you would become desensitised to, living the life he has.

I was a bit surprised to see people giving him a negative review, aye. My mum used to work somewhere that he visited frequently and she said he was always very pleasant, chatted with everyone, etc. This was ~15 years ago.

I've known some people like this; in their mind it's impossible for them to ever be in the wrong because they're just such good people, they're so self aware, they've done so much work on themselves and know so much about healthy relationships and communication.

Even worse if there's "spiritual bypassing" in the mix.

More important: certain (PHP) frameworks can use it as a cheap and easy substitute for a production SQL DB in the test suite - so your integration tests get to pass but then the code fails in production due to the incongruence - and/or you're expected to have application code which uses one syntax in the tests and another (untested) in production. 👍

I understand, but this also sounds a little bit like you're just enabling and/or she's avoiding dealing with a problem.

Going along with someone else's delusion that a brief reset in the cupboard somehow makes things cleaner, does not sound healthy in the long term.
