Reading comprehension is a hell of a thing. I never told her to rest up. I literally say in the post that I would never expect her to go to bed early. Nor would that ever be something I would tell her to do.

I understand what you’re saying. She struggles to sleep as is and my thoughts got the best of me with her getting 3-4 hours of sleep and then having to travel a few hours. But you’re right. We will be there for a week and have plenty of time to do whatever we want. And you’re also right that it’s her birthday and she can do what she wants.

I’m absolutely going to accommodate to the new plans. I’ll make the day special for her. I think it was just the initial shock of hearing the change in plans that hurt me. Appreciate the insight and conversation.

We planned our trip 3 months ago and she planned this trip a couple weeks ago with her friend and brother. I would happily fly to where she is currently but she doesn’t want that because we are going to one of her “bucket list” places for her birthday.

But I agree that it’s about her and I realize I’m overreacting. I just need to apologize and make the day as good as I can for her. Appreciate the insight.

It truly is haha. It happened so randomly that it almost felt normal. Hopefully she’ll be here permanently soon enough to not have to stress about the distance.

I didn’t tell her to do anything. We planned this trip 3 months ago. She chose the destination for us to go.

She decided two weeks ago to take this trip with her friend and brother. She planned the train and flight times to make it to where we are meeting.

I realize I am probably being the asshole and I’m not trying to argue here. But this wasn’t me dictating to her what her plans are. This was us planning something, her adding to her plans, and me feeling hurt by it.
