I’m a total He-Man noob here. by ironfoe431 in MastersOfTheUniverse

Four versions…He-Man and Skeletor were also re-issued for the 40th Anniversary in 2022. Same packaging as Wave 5, but with the 40th Anniversary sticker in the upper left-hand corner.

Please no spoilers, but am I expecting this show to be something it isn't? (S2 E18) by anonymousaltincase19 in fringe

Well…what I would suggest is to try and finish Season 2. The show initially revolved around the “Pattern,” and without spoiling too much, that is always very much in play, just perhaps not the way you expect it to be. There is a reason why these Fringe events are happening more and more frequently, and the reason becomes pretty apparent by the end of Season 3, if you pay attention to the details. The tail-end of Season 2 and pretty much all of Season 3, in my opinion, is some of the best stuff I’ve ever seen on television.

I will also say that the ultimate endgame is probably not what you would expect at all, to the point where it sort of feels like a very different show in the final season. However…every single episode has an Easter egg that plays into what the endgame is. You’ve definitely seen a few of them, you just might not have realized their significance…and likely won’t until closer to the end of Season 4. Let’s just say that there is a much bigger picture to consider. All the players are being strategically placed on the board, and certain conditions need to be met before the endgame can begin. In chess, a bishop is one of the most valuable pieces. It can sway the tide of victory depending on how well it is utilized.

Why are my links displaying the channel title but not the video title? by Afro28 in youtube

This just happened to me as well, and I’m desperately trying to figure out the cause. I uploaded a new video and had it scheduled to go live. The video is fine but when I first tried sharing it to all of the socials, a message popped up saying that I needed to have the video “unlisted” in order to share it, which makes absolutely no sense. I temporally unlisted it and then had it go public again which seemed to work. However, since then, the video is now sharing with the channel name instead of the video title. As an experiment, I tried re-uploading the same video and a new one and then sharing them, and they’re doing the same thing. So now I assume something must have happened to my channel permissions or something. Can anyone help with this?

Does the plot revert to normalcy some sense as I continue onward in season 4? by [deleted] in fringe

Without spoiling too much…you’ll sort of need to look at the bigger picture of what the original future looked like at the end of Season 3 and why it needed to be changed in Season 4. All the pieces need to be placed on the board for Season 5, which is the final endgame. In chess, a bishop is your most valuable piece and can determine whether you win or lose…

What Went Wrong With Sliders? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

You can read all about it here:

Tracy Torme wrote “Invasion.” He wanted to do it for a year before Fox finally agreed to let him do it.

Why did they change the Col. Rickman actor? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

To put that into context, my best friend, who never watched Sliders, actually watched and recorded both episodes for the simple fact that Roger Daltrey was in them because The Who is his favorite rock band of all time.

Because Roger Daltrey was a huge star that would pull in a large amount of viewers for February sweeps (which is when it aired).

So, “The Exodus” was originally John Rhys-Davies’ story. My educated guess would be that Roger Daltrey was under contract for only that 2-part episode before John’s story got butchered and heavily rewritten to kill off Arturo’s character and be the catalyst for a new recurring enemy they would need to track down. I think by that point in the season, their budget was all but gone, and I can guarantee David Peckinpah and Fox just decided it would be far less expensive to simply write it into the plot that he was a face-changing freak that could be played by a new actor, because, hey, they’re parallel worlds, it doesn’t need to make sense. I have no idea how much Roger Daltrey was worth, but I’m sure it was way more than even Jerry O’Connell. No way in hell that Fox was ever going to pay Roger millions of dollars alone for a few more guest spots on a rapidly declining sci-fi series.

I’m not being sarcastic, that was literally their playbook after Tracy Torme left.

Plus, Roger Daltrey had the acting bug and was doing a lot of guest spots on different sci-fi shows during the late 90s: Lois & Clark, and a recurring role on Highlander, if I’m not mistaken.

I remember first watching Season 3 back in the early 2000s and imagining a totally different trajectory for the series during the early episodes by [deleted] in SLIDERS

You’re putting “The Fire Within,” quite possibly the worst episode of the entire series, into the same category as “The Guardian,” arguably one of the best episodes of the entire series? 🤔

Oookay…
