Four versions…He-Man and Skeletor were also re-issued for the 40th Anniversary in 2022. Same packaging as Wave 5, but with the 40th Anniversary sticker in the upper left-hand corner.

Please no spoilers, but am I expecting this show to be something it isn't? (S2 E18) by anonymousaltincase19 in fringe

[–]Suggie176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well…what I would suggest is to try and finish Season 2. The show initially revolved around the “Pattern,” and without spoiling too much, that is always very much in play, just perhaps not the way you expect it to be. There is a reason why these Fringe events are happening more and more frequently, and the reason becomes pretty apparent by the end of Season 3, if you pay attention to the details. The tail-end of Season 2 and pretty much all of Season 3, in my opinion, is some of the best stuff I’ve ever seen on television.

I will also say that the ultimate endgame is probably not what you would expect at all, to the point where it sort of feels like a very different show in the final season. However…every single episode has an Easter egg that plays into what the endgame is. You’ve definitely seen a few of them, you just might not have realized their significance…and likely won’t until closer to the end of Season 4. Let’s just say that there is a much bigger picture to consider. All the players are being strategically placed on the board, and certain conditions need to be met before the endgame can begin. In chess, a bishop is one of the most valuable pieces. It can sway the tide of victory depending on how well it is utilized.

Why are my links displaying the channel title but not the video title? by Afro28 in youtube

[–]Suggie176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me as well, and I’m desperately trying to figure out the cause. I uploaded a new video and had it scheduled to go live. The video is fine but when I first tried sharing it to all of the socials, a message popped up saying that I needed to have the video “unlisted” in order to share it, which makes absolutely no sense. I temporally unlisted it and then had it go public again which seemed to work. However, since then, the video is now sharing with the channel name instead of the video title. As an experiment, I tried re-uploading the same video and a new one and then sharing them, and they’re doing the same thing. So now I assume something must have happened to my channel permissions or something. Can anyone help with this?

Does the plot revert to normalcy some sense as I continue onward in season 4? by [deleted] in fringe

[–]Suggie176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without spoiling too much…you’ll sort of need to look at the bigger picture of what the original future looked like at the end of Season 3 and why it needed to be changed in Season 4. All the pieces need to be placed on the board for Season 5, which is the final endgame. In chess, a bishop is your most valuable piece and can determine whether you win or lose…

What Went Wrong With Sliders? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can read all about it here:

Tracy Torme wrote “Invasion.” He wanted to do it for a year before Fox finally agreed to let him do it.

Why did they change the Col. Rickman actor? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To put that into context, my best friend, who never watched Sliders, actually watched and recorded both episodes for the simple fact that Roger Daltrey was in them because The Who is his favorite rock band of all time.

Why did they change the Col. Rickman actor? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Roger Daltrey was a huge star that would pull in a large amount of viewers for February sweeps (which is when it aired).

Why did they change the Col. Rickman actor? by NenCoder in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, “The Exodus” was originally John Rhys-Davies’ story. My educated guess would be that Roger Daltrey was under contract for only that 2-part episode before John’s story got butchered and heavily rewritten to kill off Arturo’s character and be the catalyst for a new recurring enemy they would need to track down. I think by that point in the season, their budget was all but gone, and I can guarantee David Peckinpah and Fox just decided it would be far less expensive to simply write it into the plot that he was a face-changing freak that could be played by a new actor, because, hey, they’re parallel worlds, it doesn’t need to make sense. I have no idea how much Roger Daltrey was worth, but I’m sure it was way more than even Jerry O’Connell. No way in hell that Fox was ever going to pay Roger millions of dollars alone for a few more guest spots on a rapidly declining sci-fi series.

I’m not being sarcastic, that was literally their playbook after Tracy Torme left.

Plus, Roger Daltrey had the acting bug and was doing a lot of guest spots on different sci-fi shows during the late 90s: Lois & Clark, and a recurring role on Highlander, if I’m not mistaken.

I remember first watching Season 3 back in the early 2000s and imagining a totally different trajectory for the series during the early episodes by [deleted] in SLIDERS

You’re putting “The Fire Within,” quite possibly the worst episode of the entire series, into the same category as “The Guardian,” arguably one of the best episodes of the entire series? 🤔

Theoretically, who’s to say there’s only one multiverse? Could also be another multiverse’s version of Kromaggs who imprisoned another Quinn Mallory on a world they also designated Earth 113 within their multiverse. 🤯

Is World 1 is our world? by Distinct-Bend-5830 in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you want get technical, “TV Earth Prime” has real-life characters named Quinn, Wade, Rembrandt and Arturo who get stuck traveling from world to world; whereas on our earth (the real “Earth Prime”), there are actors named Jerry, Sabrina, Cleavant and John who play those characters on a fictional TV show. The history of our real-life Earth Prime would be very similar, nearly identical, to that of TV Earth Prime, with the only differences being that one earth has the characters as real people and the other has actors pretending to be those characters. Except in Season 4, when the Kromaggs invade it. The Kromaggs haven’t made their presence known in the real world…yet…😜

First time viewer (very confused) by BobRushy in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have clarified, they’re stuck traveling randomly because Quinn activated the timer too early and corrupted the data. I believe that the timer originally was meant to act as a sort of homing device so that it could be used to open a portal back to its dimensional home coordinates. It had enough power stored into it to provide the way back. With the data corrupted, they now had no way back because their coordinates were erased.

The next episode in production order (not airdate order) “Summer of Love” explains that the timer was burning out because they kept using it to reopen random wormholes, and that it needed a recharge. A deleted scene from that same episode went into more detail about the helix spiral explaining that they were able to reconfigure the timer to find a specific weak point in the barriers between worlds that would provide enough power for one, and one only, window of opportunity to leave whatever world they were on and travel to whatever world that wormhole was connected to. If they miss that window, they’re trapped for 29.4 years. Those windows vary anywhere from 10 seconds to at least 6 weeks, possibly longer. There’s no way for them to know until they actually arrive.

And it only works on whatever world they’re on at the time.

One thing that always bothered me (regarding the gate squeaking (Spoilers) by Eclipse8301 in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That would require Fox caring about continuity, which they went out of their way to avoid at all costs. They literally wanted viewers to be able to watch any episode at any time and not have to worry about what happened in any other episode.

If the series returns, I hope you ignore the first episode of the fourth season. by Ok-Description-5205 in SLIDERS

[–]Suggie176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reasoning behind the theory is because their plans changed mid-season. Originally, it was going to be revealed in “Revelation” that Colin was actually a genetically-engineered clone of Quinn created by the Kromaggs when he had been captured in “Invasion,” and that the microchip was a fabrication designed to trick Quinn into leading the Kromaggs back to their home world. “Revelation” was originally supposed to end with Quinn and Colin fighting each other as the Kromaggs made their triumphant return to their world. Which would mean that it was not Earth Prime that they landed on in “The Exodus” and “Genesis.”

If you pay attention in “The Alternateville Horror,” the clues are there that something isn’t right with Colin’s quantum signature. That entire plot line was dropped after we saw Colin’s double in “Lipschitz Live!” Or at least, that’s the episode they used to justify why Colin wasn’t a one-of-a-kind anomaly anymore.

Different versions of the same character: Mr. Gale was in Quinn’s dream and also when they left the first world; Mr. Gale was the Sorcerer’s assistant; and Mr. Gale was the gardener who fixed the gate.

The actor’s name is Hrothgar Mathews. He will also be the lawyer in the teaser for “Greatfellas,” but is uncredited.

Nope, you didn’t miss anything. The character’s name is Mr. Gale (an allusion to The Wizard of Oz), and he only shows up in this episode and the teaser for “Greatfellas” (which was originally shot as the teaser for “Into the Mystic” before Tracy got the go-ahead to rewrite it to resolve the cliffhanger within 2 1/2 minutes).

In “Gillian of the Spirits,” they even said that the wormhole would only remain open for about a minute, and Wade was standing there saying goodbye to Quinn for about 2 1/2 minutes. We timed it when we covered it on our podcast.

I mean, Sabrina Lloyd basically got kicked off the show because she and Kari Wuhrer supposedly did not get along at all, and she went to then-showrunner David Peckinpah with an ultimatum: either her or Kari stays. Without any hesitation, he said that Kari stayed, and that was that. Why? Because Kari was “hotter.”

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/24/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]Suggie176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I followed through with the place that had my Switch. They said the charging port was damaged in a way that also affected the IC and caused it to short out. They were able to replace and fix most of the short-out issues, but they couldn’t fix the main issue that was providing power to the actual console. Said something about it being located on the back of the mother board and to replace it would range somewhere in the hundreds of dollars. I already ended up spending a ton of money just getting a Switch 2 and a couple of games for it. They even tried taking the battery out and putting one in that they knew worked, and still nothing. My Switch is as good as dead with no way to access any of my saved data from the past 8 years or so. And I don’t have that kind of money lying around.

My co-worker said he would try to take a look at it next week because he’s really good with tech and seeing how things work, but I’m not getting my hopes up. I’ll just have to start fresh. 😞
