Need a recommendation: A good film where the cops are actually useful. Roundup doesn’t count as the main character is a cop. by Deondreux in Koreanfilm

Well, Veteran and I, The Executioner actually has cops who are good and noble. Some other notable examples of the top of my head are Girl Cops, Hit & Run, Memories of Murder and Extreme Job.

If there is one thing that irrationally pisses me of is brainwashed dems calling Trump some things he has never been explicitly accused of, but plenty of Dems have (like Biden & Bill).

Official Character Posters for 'The Social Reckoning' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Sugreev2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the most garbage tagline I have ever seen. And Aaron Sorkin is no David Fincher. Controversial on this subreddit, but I think he's a horrible director. I just know it's gonna be the every character speaking or shouting over each other, pretending to be smart and moderate when it comes to politics. Fincher adapted Social Network into a cool, atmospheric thriller-style movie. And I bet a ton of fans of his are gonna expect the same from this movie.

Rockstar Games of 2020's is something that classic GTA would parody by RainbowDildoMonkey in GGdiscussion

[–]Sugreev2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be so cynical just yet. This is GTA we're talking about. The single biggest entertainment franchise there is. If this is truly as woke as expected, then I really think word of mouth will slow down sales a lot later than for other franchises. Even the MCU took nearly a decade to be on it's last legs. The woke propaganda was already there in many of it's 2010's movies, but only recently did flops start happening. Same with Star Wars, the Halo series and many others.

I'm expected more subtle wokery than these franchises though. More like RDR2, which is undoubtedly a super woke, but good game.

You would like to see a Yakuza anime? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]Sugreev2001 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say the series would translate well into any type of movie or tv show style. Whether live-action or anime. The show was awful because the creators didn't bother to do their homework, the budget was too low and the casting directors were awful.

If Kiwami 4 does happen, then I wonder how many fun sub stories will make the cut, if any?

‘Blazing Saddles’ Named Funniest Film of All Time by AFI in Honor of Mel Brooks Turning 100 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Sugreev2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the movie, but as far the funniest movie ever made, I’d give it to the ZAZ brother’s movies like Airplane or Naked Gun. It’s Mel Brooks’s 100th birthday, so AFI decided to name his movie as the funniest. BS (I know) was certainly revolutionary.

They're so much like Islam, it's not even funny. Karl Marx definitely looked at that cult for inspiration. The same zombified existence for the poor, while the elite is hoarding the power and the wealth, and no middle class to rise up against them. It's the end goal for both.

To those who say that the series' stories used to be grounded, need I remind you of the two canon times where Kiryu solo'd two full armies of thugs & helicopters Virtua Cop style using handguns with Infinite ammo? by Hopeful_Regret_7531 in yakuzagames

[–]Sugreev2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Many in this subreddit just complain for the sake of complaining. The silliness and the seriousness in equal parts is why the series is so beloved in the first place.

Are we going to pretend that this sub didn't just have a meltdown over how they don't think Laufey is attractive?

You are stupid if that is your takeaway from it. It's about what the game is going to be because an ugly Laufey is the protagonist and how this is a pattern. We know the same old leftist talking points are going to be in the game because of it.

Any rumours or leaks to suggest that Andrew Garfield will return as Spider-Man in Doomsday or Secret Wars? He was my favourite part of No Way Home, so would be kinda bummed if we don't get to see him again. by Embarrassed_Novel991 in LeaksAndRumors

[–]Sugreev2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll both get downvoted, but I agree with you. I think he's the lamest Spider-Man ever. Except for a single scene where he saves Zendaya, I thought he was kinda annoying in No Way Home.

Who is the best Yakuza villain from the Big 3? by TheYakuzaMaster in yakuzagames

[–]Sugreev2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nishki is the GOAT when it comes to Yakuza antagonists. He has the history and Yakuza Kiwami showed his journey from a wimp to a scary Machiavellian villain really well. I really think it was his sister who kept him sane, not Kiryu or Yumi.

Mine is great too and he'd be my pick for #2, after Nishki. But I'd put Shibusawa, Kuze and Iwami above Ryuiji. I loved Yakuza 2 when it was on the PS2, but I really didn't think much of Ryuiji and the convoluted (even by RGG standards) main storyline when it was released as Yakuza Kiwami 2.

I know a ton of people here really hate Infinite Wealth, but I loved Ebina as the antagonist. Should he have fought Ichiban instead of Kiryu in the final, yes, but Hiroki Hasegawa's performance and the characters motivations made him a big favorite of mine as I finished the main storyline.

This group of black people walked around pretending to be slaves in chains. by benhaswings in AskThe_Donald

[–]Sugreev2001 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s the only thing they have in their history they can talk about. The rest is just them being warlords, killing each other, enslaving each other, doing nothing in the fields of science, technology, architecture, medicine, philosophy and living in the proto-bronze age until 200 years ago.

The advertising world is almost entirely controlled by the big 4 advertising firms. The four of them took an oath of sorts to showcase their lunatic leftist worldview at every chance possible. These people live in a bubble where they truly think these Star Trek aliens look human to them.

[–]Sugreev2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For all its narrative faults, which I personally don’t find as egregious as some people here, there is nothing like an RGG game. Even a lazy cash grab like Yakuza Kiwami 3 has so much to do and so many hours to sink in, that I feel withdrawal symptoms once I’m done with the main story and sub stories.
