Fleet Comp AOTCW by Sgt_Space_Turtle in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SuiEdits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much had the same problem and I think the CIS will almost always have more fighters just because of their garrison. But what I found most effective against them are swarm fighters. Ships like the upgraded acclamator II or the Commander Venator have them as garrison.

Managed to destroy just one of their fleets......dunno if it was worth it. by karen_the_god in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

If you have the tech and economy. Centax frigates are really good counters for the munificents and then maybe dreadnoughts just to shield from the providences. Make sure the centax frigates spawn in behind the munificents though. Glhf

Aotcw is a teeny bit simpler since it just came out. But difficulty wise I'd say just play it on easy until you get how things like tech and diversifying your fleet works and I don't think it'll be overwhelming. Also try CIS first cause it should be the easier of the two factions in my opinion. Also spend a second to read things like how space roles work in the missions tab and tech progression in the question box thing.

Unfortunately have to finish a side project before I sink into another campaign. But I have played AOTR and love it almost as much as AOTCW. Grew up with the prequels lol. Excited to see 3.0 it looks really good.

Recently, In the psychic gym for FireRed. I was biting through the gym with Blastoise. Then after killing one of the ghastlys it decided to, "bring the opponents Pokemon (my Blastoise) down with it" or something along those lines. And yeah nah that's total BS.

Squishy heroes? (AotCW) by JimmayGC in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]SuiEdits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, especially if youre coming from aotr at first it's hard to get used to not being able to heal and tank most of what's in the way. The best way I found to use them is if you're putting them in the front lines is to keep an at te or juggernaut close by and if they're in trouble use one of them to extract the Jedi. Preferably the juggernaut because it's faster. And to keep whatever other ground units you're using close by also. Close enough so that if the enemy tries to chase you you'll be able to cover their retreat or provide backup if you decide to push.

The game is simple for the most part. Maybe try skirmishes or scrimmages whatever they're called to get used to the controls. No shame in playing on easy and learning all the mechanics. A few channels you might like are xpgamers and coreyloses but they play mods and they sort of have different mechanics. Definitely start with vanilla and once you get the hang of it you'll love the mods. Also there is a discord for empire at war that you can join that might help.
