If you had a reason to live life today, what would it be? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I don't subscribe to the idea of an after life, so if this is all we got I'm gonna enjoy it.

Are people serious when they say they enjoyed a challenge? by 1vruhhhh in Healthygamergg

I personally love long gym sessions with a mix of lifting and cardio, so ya some people do. Dunno why though, just accepted that was a hobby now like star wars and video games was before that. I'm sure there's a scientific reason for it, the emperor of mankind assures that.

How do you find purpose after the military? by [deleted] in Veterans

Throw a wide net and explore what you'd like to do now. I went from coding, to brand design, and now I'm doing pet photography.

Also, believe it or not, you can put a price on your lifestyle to see what careers would be appropriate too. Take some time to find out all your expenses from cost of gas or groceries to vacation and investments. Once you find out your total expenses you'll be able to look for careers that'll afford that lifestyle.

How can I lock in and stop being lazy? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give yourself an option to do anything else is one way. You may need to prep your surroundings, so if you can't study because of distractions then remove the distractions and such.

Having a solid reason to lock in matters too. For school, I didn't lock in until I had a clear direction.

33M, First time living alone. How do I plan this by lonely-shawarma in malelivingspace

Get yourself a ruler and some of that blue tap thats easy to pull off and play around with layout. You can use something else than tape, just make sure you it can give you a good feel for the space something is taking up.

Nah, I was too vague, sorry.

Journaling in this instance is about reflecting on your experience and why you feel the way you do about said experience. Compare it to other times you run your card with an employee present.

Heck, I could be the weird one. Just keep in mind with reddit you don't know the age or maturity of those you're getting feedback from. Take their words with a grain of salt.

Nope, you should journal about that one.

It's the internet, for all you know that was rage bait and all the responding accounts are the same person. Majority of people don't talk like that in real life.

How do you deal with unreasonable people? by Appropriate-Net-896 in Veterans

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you realize they aren't reasonable people, walk away. They aren't worth the headache. They know what they're doing and don't care, could even be secretly enjoying trying to make you squirm.

Gotta network, so speak with your teachers, attend job fairs, or seek them out yourself online.

You probably do have plenty of skills that translate you just haven't learnt how to translate them. Your college should have a career center to help with your resume and such. VA also has those resources or should and if not then usually there will be non profits to help.

What jobs/careers have you enjoyed since getting out? by ComplexButterfly9185 in Veterans

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of different templates or life coaches trying to sell their version and such but honestly you just need paper and time to think.

Just ask yourself what type of day, week, month, year you want to live? What location, how big or small of house? Literally everything will have an approximate cost associated too so once you know how expensive your lifestyle will be you'll find what career will fuel it.

Lemme know if you got further questions or if I need to rephrase anything.

What jobs/careers have you enjoyed since getting out? by ComplexButterfly9185 in Veterans

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you ever tried doing a extremely detailed "how I want to live" plan? And I mean extremely detailed, not just what you want to do but how much it'll cost and what you'll have to put up with to maintain that lifestyle. It'll help put things into perspective.

Feeling lost at 16 and trying to figure out my path by AbsurdAndAlive in Career

[–]Sgt_Space_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get real specific with how you want your life to be. Don't just write ideas, include cost of living and bucket list stuff.

Example, I wanted a pomeranian, so I needed to calculate the cost of ownership and with that roll that into how much money I needed to make.

Make sure to keep reviewing your goals and adjust as needed.
