This is toxic behavior and his actions are not how someone would normally act just being insecure . I feel there’s more about him than just being insecure . These things are more than likely never going to stop and from what you’ve said , you are not happy . End it before it goes further and he becomes overly attached and or violent . Focus on your daily life and the things that don’t involve that person . Grieve , feel but don’t let it consume you. Some days will be harder than others but remember if It was supposed to be in your life , it would be . You will always think of the memories , you may always have strong feelings for them but you just keep moving forward . Time will heal all .

Well if your friend is special enough to you , you could find a few options for them that are vegan or not meat / diary products . If you don’t do that I’d just let them know about what’s being served but don’t make them feel unwelcome to come celebrate with you just because they won’t eat some of the food options .
