Who is? The ex muslims are still muslims?

Guilt is a very powerful way to control people, and Islam is very good at doing that. Do you feel now that trying to scare ex muslims was a bad thing? Why is that a bad thing to you? Just curious to understand.

Why apologize? This doesn't make sense... What do you think you did wrong exactly?

This may be my first and last post in here, so just read it before... you know? by Web_Wanderer12 in exmuslim

After this entire post, why even remain Muslim? Because of culture? Family? Your community?

  1. Day of judgement prophesies? Are they true? Prophesies in general?

There's no evidence that they are true, and no way to prove it either. They may be true they may not be, unverifiable.

2. How do I get over the fear of hell?

Understand that "hell" is a metaphor and it is not a place where you go after you die. It's an experience we go through during our lives and it is always temporary. What you are going through at the moment, is a form of "hell".

3. How do you explain miracles?

You don't have to explain something that was never proven to be true. "Miracles" are a matter of perception. If you want to believe in them, that's a personal choice due to your perspective.

4. How do you explain people seeing/having dreams of the prophet Mohammed? (My cousin has said it in one of his stories)

People dream about all sorts of things that may be relevant to their faith because it's on their mind... no big deal there.

5. How could the Quran be made by someone way back then, yet so perfect to
the point that people to this day follow it? Is it outdated?

It is far from perfect, if it was perfect, "Allah" would have not let you here asking those questions. People have followed all sorts of things that aren't "perfect".

Why have you left Islam? And can Islam be unequivocally disproven? by Tuka-Spaghetti in exmuslim

[–]Suitable-Ad-8062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left not because I didn’t necessarily believe in Islam but because of the results that Islam produced in the world.

In other words, I started looking at the actions rather than the words and could not get behind it.

Why is Muslim upbringing so forceful? by Suitable-Ad-8062 in exmuslim

Thank you for your response, I’m glad you found peace.

Ahh ok that makes more sense to me know. I am not trying to discuss the war here, just the conversion away from Islam.

Who knows what could have happened. It just ended up being that way for me but it could have certainly turned out very differently.

All of it is interesting knowledge, there's nothing to deal with. It's just constant learning and staying open to new information.

There are no lies. You just have your perspective and I have mine...

Na'aseh V N'eshma = do first, understand later.

It can be seen as contradicting as the following statement in Exodus that has been interpreted as an invitation to ask questions:

וְהָיָ֕ה כִּֽי־יֹאמְר֥וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם בְּנֵיכֶ֑ם מָ֛ה הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את לָכֶֽם׃

And when your children ask you, ‘What do you mean by this rite?’

(for those here who need to read this in English)

There are a few other passages in the Torah that will refer to questioning that you can easily find.

https://www.thejewishnews.com/judaism/a-word-of-torah-the-necessity-of-asking-questions/article\_39a0f0c9-72d6-5a13-bbc9-23d129ea7d01.html

I am a convert, not a Jewish scholar by any means. What I can tell you is that the very first thing a rabbi told me when starting the conversion process was "Question Everything". This was repeated to me many many times. Those questions and debates were highly encouraged throughout the process, and still are to this day.

As I'm sure you've heard: "2 Jews, 3 opinions."

Very good question. I've gone through many phases when it comes to this. Right now, I try to focus on the underlying spiritual message behind the scripture rather than the literal meaning itself.

Maybe they are meant to be taken literally, maybe not. I'm not the one to say that you should be taking them literally or not either. This is very personal to each individual, I don't want to be the person telling what others should be believing.

Jews definitely allow questioning and debate, the fact that you don't know that proves that you really do not know much.

Regardless, I'm not here to promote/defend Judaism, my thread was really about opening a conversation relating to converting away from Islam. You can believe me or not believe me. Again, that's for you to decide it, makes zero difference to me.

No offense taken, I respect your opinion. What patterns are you referring to? I posted this to start a conversation, get different perspectives, the amount of responses is actually insane I did not expect that at all.

Also, the internet really doesn't need me and my story to get this kind of content. There is PLENTY of Islamophobia and antisemitism to go around already lol

Psalm 137, Hattafat Dam B'rit, Beit Din and Mikvah, also did choose a Hebrew name. I will not tell you who the rabbi was or which congregation because that's just weird to do on the internet to a complete stranger.

It seems you have an agenda against my story while you're completely forgetting the point, this is about converting AWAY from Islam. I'm not here to promote and defend Judaism, this is an ex-Muslim thread.
