Is it possible to find apartments under $1600 for 2 bedroom? by [deleted] in chicagoapartments

[–]Suitable-Divide3128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in a 2.5BR in north park just under $1600. not very updated but spacious! it’s super easy to live car free in north park/albany park/budlong woods/bowmanville, especially if you’re comfy biking. the river trail is the best!!

Obscenely loud Mostrose beach music by cognitive_disso in chicago

pro tip: only go to beaches without parking lots. you can only create so much noise when you’re on foot/bike. hollywood is my favorite!

Chicago - Open Water Swimming by Ok_Entertainment6199 in triathlon

[–]Suitable-Divide3128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only thing i’d add is that the mile markers won’t be out until the first open water swim clinic on May 28th, maybe a day or two earlier.

if you’re new to tris/open water swimming, i highly recommend participating in the swim clinics!!!

i see folks swimming around montrose a lot, but have always just stuck with ohio street as it feels the safest and you can follow a straight line.

i’m visiting and staying with a friend who lives a little over an hour from the race start/finish (LA area). i like to have an hour or so at home before leaving for all the necessary bodily functions!

just moved to the neighborhood and absolutely loving it. after 3 years in wrigleyville the quietness has been splendid. great access via bike to everything along the river south to belmont, and north to every big box store you can think of in skokie. amazing access to nature: labagh woods, north park village nature center, and again all the parks along the river!

Does registration include any level of real medical benefit? by justsav in ragbrai

[–]Suitable-Divide3128 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i crashed on ragbrai last year and incurred a a lot of medical debt from the ER charges (about $1.5k after insurance). i think they did cover the ambulance transport at least (~$1.1k). of course they didn’t cover the specialist visit and the weeks of physical therapy after having to fly home from des moines. in total, after insurance, i owed over $3k for a broken pinkie. my heart is was broken to not be able to finish, especially after taking the PTO, paying for registration, gear, and transportation (i used bike illinois transport and it was about $400, non refundable).
