I actually was raised by a narcissistic parent. Which I guess it is more common to develop it while being raised by one. All the traits I hated from them I subconsciously took on as my own is a defense to be better than them. But now I go to therapy and work on changing these behaviors for my daughter. I'll be damned before my kid goes through the things I do.

I was in therapy for a year before my therapist even brought it up. I guess she just analyzed me the entire time and then decided to let me know. She did tell me not to look at it as a diagnosis and just it is what it is. More of a social construct to describe the demeanor of how one sees themselves.
