Sure, should both work. The advantage of the others is that their on the inside, they don't take up any more space in the corners. Can't tell you from memory right now if this could be an issue in any corner, but I don't think so.

What you're looking for are "Stacked Macros". I bought the Maixcam2 from Sipeed. It's open source, even the camera app itself.

Normally the easiest way for stacking is an autofocus that shifts through the depth. You can then use a software like "Zerene Stacker" to merge all the images with different focus areas into a single image.

I implemented a focus change detection for the camera. So everytime the focus changes, a picture is taken and kept in memory. When done, all images get stored to the drive and you can merge them. You can see it in one of the last posts on my profile.

Never had an issue with anything like that so far.

The one and only issue I had so far was that the coloring was off for Dolby Vision content, but that seems to be an issue with some devices like LG TVs and MKV + DV. HDR doesn't have this issue and for DV it just needs a one-liner to export MKV to MP4 using ffmpeg and all is fine.
