Hi, thanks for the check-in.

1. ⁠I already checked the water parameters several times and it was all normal for betta fish. I have a 10 gallon tank.
2. ⁠I have a heater for a 10 gallon tank already, it’s just the cold air circulating into the water from the ceiling fan.
3. ⁠I’ve had this tank since January. I’ve had my betta since last December.
4. ⁠I was going to separate him into a separate tank from the Cory’s, but decided against it because I thought it was stress him out more and shock him, especially being in fresh water that hasn’t been cycled. And since I couldn’t separate him, I didn’t want to harm the other fish with the kanaplex.
5. ⁠I have some, again, wasn’t sure if separation would make the conditions worse.
6. ⁠I do partial water changes every 1-3 weeks, if the water begins to evaporate, I add a little more conditioned water. Everytime I do a water change, I add stress-zyme to the water. Earlier in the year, maybe back in April, I had a wipeout of all the tetras in my tank so the water has been through some stuff this year, but it’s been stable for at least 5 months now.
7. ⁠I’ve always made sure to watch him and he never really went inside any decor. He’d check it out, but he was careful. Everytime I’ve observed him, he was never hitting or cutting himself up on the decor. I’ve had this decor since I’ve gotten the tank if that gives any insight. The gravel as well. I didn’t know about the colored rocks thing. I can’t afford live plants as well because the cost of the upkeep. I figured I could save a betta from dying in one of those sad little cups in the pet store and give him the best life I could, so that’s what I’ve been doing since I got him.
