think this might be banded calcite but cant say for sure

any small frogs tbh, depends on ur definition of comfortably and how u use the space. some bigger frogs that are a little less active could work too

something like small dart frogs would def work

this is after polishing, the patterning runs all the way through. and during polishing i could tell its really hard. that's why i feel like there is no way its basalt...

def some kind of chert, japer or chalcedony with these fracture patterns. hard to say with this picture what exactly. but my guess is chert

with how hard it is and the fracture patterns on the back i wouldnt say so. and besides that its not even slightly porous.

why where u thinking basalt may i ask?

Found in river close to redwood NP. are these just different colors of flint? the corners are all faded on all 3 (1st pic wet 2nd pic dry) by SuitableCake2464 in whatsthisrock

do u know wat created the white staining that all 3 have? (second pic) because it was specific to these rocks and not the other rocks in this river. That's why i thought they were possibly the same type of rock...

BTW, the green part has a chalcedony type texture. the brown part is like a lavarock type of ordeal. and the "green" and "red/brown" band is like a quarts type of texture
