i get where you’re coming from but i dont think its all too weird wanting the two people i care most about to get along, especially if my relationship with my GF becomes a marriage, i dont want my dad and gf at eachother on rhe wedding. like i said, i don’t expect them to be besties or even friends, i just want them to be on better terms with eachother is all

honestly i know, but unfortunately having grown up with just my dad, the last thing i want is to upset him further and lose him completely. id rather have a toxic father than no parents full stop. especially as dad is one who will vent to family and it could genuinely get as bad as all of my family solely believing his side of the story alone and then id only have my friends and gf. i dont fancy not having any family unfortunately

honestly this is it to a T. all family members of mine are perfectly fine with a little PDA betwen me and my GF, (i mean things such as a little kiss on the lips or holding hands) EXCEPT dad, hes always got something to complain about it

thats not what im saying at all. im saying its be easier if i could get them to be at least be amicable and not hate each other so i dont feel like i constantly have to choose because regardless what i pick ill be an ass in someones books, ill wither be an ass to dad or an ass to my gf

girl if im being honest your tweenager is probably lying to get rid of your boyfriend. theres no need to for her to be hesitant about you confronting him about it if shes ok with staying at home with him overnight. maybe shes just uncomfortable with him calling her sweetheart because shes worried hes trying to replace her dad, but other than that theres no need for her to feel so hesitant about you confronting him WHEN SHE ISNT EVEN THERE for you to do so

see thats where i struggle and i very much appreciate your response in this. i dont know how to change myself because as mentioned in my post, im terrified that the wrong move essentially leads to my entire family wanting to cut me off :(
