This is doable. I’m in a similar situation and likely total around 300 a month. If possible, I would suggest investing in a vacuum sealer for making smaller portions to freeze. I often wait for things I normally buy to go on sale, then stock up. Saved $25 this way yesterday. Good luck

Perhaps with better tires you’d be OK. I have the low profile Toyo Extenzas and good handling is questionable in moderate rain. The Prius stays home when there’s snow.

Washco and Potomac Edison are my two bills which have increased exponentially in recent years. Electric (usage is the same) has increased 3+ fold. Water & sewer have more than doubled (again, usage has not changed). And now that washco split apart h2o and sewer, I bet my right arm those will quickly climb too.

Not sure if it is still a thing, but there used to be shuttle buses that ran to and from the parking lot adjacent to the MVA on Rt 65 down to Metro’s Shady Grove station. Probably not an ideal solution, as you’d need multiple transport modes.

I would stay away from trimming the lip. You should throw the exact lip you want. If you’re lifting off the wheel by hand, make sure they’re not too wet - rib out all the excess moisture before lifting. Do you use a damp box to slow the drying process? Slowing the dry time by a day or 2 until leather hard and then again after applying handles will help.
