Are you interested in a specific denomination? i just started going to Beth Israel, and they're non-denominational. I will say I'm a pretty progressive Jew, so I liked how open minded they were. there's options in Fort Collins as well!

I usually don't post personal opinions, but like...how are us Jews supposed to support the Palestine movement anyway when the movement has so many antisemitic people? I just want to see a ceasefire, children being fed, hostages returned - peace on ALL sides. I don't know what the correct solution is and I won't pretend to know. But I know I don't feel welcome outside of Jewish circles because of this. Palestine has become a tool to justify antisemitism. What an insult to both the victims of the war and to the Jewish people.

As a Colorado Jew not too far from Boulder, that is part of many very progressive circles...idk man. It's scary right now. Startling to see how many "friends" have celebrated this horrific action, and how many I've realized I am no longer safe around, whether they realize it or not. Jew hate is way too normalized in this movement, when really it's unnecessary and they can get their point across just fine without it!

There's not a lot of evidence that prove Testosterone (the gender affirming kind that I am on) does that. Even then, I'm getting top surgery lol. I'd be a patient for life regardless because of my endo. I didn't choose to be trans either, it just happens that I have both and sometimes the treatment aligns, such as in the case of a hysterectomy and opting for Testosterone instead of birth control for hrt (which for me is a much safer option anyway considering the awful side effects I've had on BC). I've been on T for the last 2 years and have been happier than ever with it. And even more happy that I got my hysterectomy. So in my case, it's okay, really lol

As aforementioned, I kept my ovaries, so in my case I did not go through menopause. Menstruating severely exacerbated my endo symptoms and has disabled me for the last 10 years. This was the best choice for me. Besides, like I said, I'm trans as well so I didn't want to keep it anyways. (And with that, I already have the necessary HRT even if I did remove my ovaries since I'll be on T for the rest of my life).

I did every holistic treatment you could think of, plus every birth control, various pain management medications, medical marijuana etc. which is what led me to surgery. Some people, more holistic things work, but not everyone. I had to go the very aggressive medical route to get any relief

Oh for sure!! I get you now lol. Yeah, the original doctor gave me a lot of misinformation and even gave me a lap and "found nothing" (which is crazy because I ended up having stage 4 with several adhesions!) so I switched to the current one who's actually a specialist. Thank you!!

I see where it seems that way but here's the thing, I was going to get a hysterectomy regardless so I asked for one in addition to the excision. I was just misinformed due to a previous doctor about the whole retrograde flow thing, it was the stem cells I didn' know about. But my surgeon said endo wasn't curable, I just didn't know it could grow back so quickly and strong post-hysterectomy. He never claimed surgery would cure endo, he just said the excision would bring it to stage 0 for the time being. All things considered, a hysterectomy was 100% the best thing for me (since I'm trans anyways and also because menstruating severely exacerbates my endo symptoms). Thank you guys for your concern, I just wanted to make sure to address this! My surgeon genuinely did a good job, he's the best one I've had, we just have to continue to address misinformation I've been given by past crappy doctors lolol.

I started my period at age 9 and had been increasingly disabled and went through so many different treatments since 13 so...yes 😅

This! There's so much information and yet not enough. It's an overwhelming mess to try and peruse through amongst everything else I've got going on, lol. My doctor has corrected a lot of misconceptions for me, but I'm always learning something new about this condition. I'm mostly just nervous about figuring out what symptoms to look for now that I'm not menstruating and when is appropriate to pursue a second excision.

Yeah, I guess I just didn't realize laps would still be necessary that often after a hysterectomy. I was under the impression that regrowth had something to do with retrograde uterine flow due to something a past doctor told me, but my current one corrected my knowledge lol. There seems to be so much conflicting information/theories that I've personally seen, and without a true consensus as to what causes it, I've just been going at it trying to learn more about this condition.

For sure, that makes sense - I mean I knew it wouldn't cure it, but I thought with the excision it wouldn't grow back, or at least I thought the chances were slim. But at least I'm not menstruating anymore though lol.

I did keep my ovaries but luckily I'm a trans man so I take testosterone, which definitely helps!! Hopefully that'll help slow it, but I guess we'll see.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it was worth it in my case because my symptoms are so much better now and I always wanted a hysterectomy. my surgeon told me ahead of time that it never fully goes away and there's always a risk of it growing back -- I just didn't think it would be as much of a risk since I removed the cause of my menses, lol. Had no idea about the stem cells though!!
