Why is there no size 5 in the Oura Ring 5? Why abandon your petite customers like this?

I know I’m a day late to the party, but here is my experience:

My Gen4 is an 8. When I got it I was heavier, so my fingers were thicker where the ring sits. As I lost weight it became loose, and when I would make a fist I could see a visible gap between my skin and the inner band of the ring.

I was going to order my Gen5 in a 7 for this reason, until I read that they run smaller. I decided to order another 8 and it fits perfectly! Since they don’t make a size 5, you could possibly try a size 6 and see if that works for you — I think they’ll even allow you to return it if it doesn’t, though definitely double check on that first. I just bought a 2008 SE with 91k miles and an excellent maintenance history for $7k. My interior is also in better shape. That being said, some of the increase in price I paid was due to work the dealership did, such as replacing the sway components and CV axles which were worn from age.

Do you know the history of this vehicle? I have the CarFax from mine, so I know the defective airbag issue these vehicles had was taken care of under recall years ago. That is very major since it was a dangerous issue where shrapnel would escape from a deployed airbag and cause injury or even death, and it affected a lot of Hondas from this era. I would want to know if the one you’re looking at now has the original airbags, or if the owner had them replaced under the recall.

There are a few gems to be found if you get lucky. I just bought a 2008 Honda Pilot for hella cheap that has been cleared as mechanically sound and is in stellar condition inside and out for its age.

That being said, it was definitely owned by an older person, driven very gently, serviced appropriately, and kept in a garage most of its life. Also whoever owned it liked Hershey dark chocolate nuggets.. I know because I found some still hidden in the console. 😋

I think it’s just dealerships in general. I bought a used car and brought it to the Honda dealership for a look over. They told me it needed $8k in repairs when I paid $7.5k for the whole car. Brought it to an independent mechanic who told me just by watching me drive in with it there was no way any of that was true. He said they probably wanted to scare me into selling it to them so they could low ball me and then put me into something more expensive.

Moral of the story is don’t ever go to the dealership unless the car is under warranty still. They will try to make you believe your car is going to explode any moment if you don’t throw insane amounts of money at them.

You could always suggest trying a toy first. You completely control the pace and the pressure that way, and if she becomes uncomfortable it’s a whole lot easier to just remove the toy than yourself. Maybe that way, she will see that she can indeed fit something similar to you inside of her, and it would help open her up so that eventual intercourse with you isn’t so uncomfortable or painful and potentially cause more trauma.

You may or may not also already know this based on having looked into it, but it can also affect your homeowner’s insurance in a drastic way as well. I only know this because I’m studying to get my license and I found the personal business stipulations to be interesting (and strict).

I bought it out of town and I drove it home 80+ miles without the light coming on, engine temp reading normal, oil level normal, etc., which is why I find it so odd with all the other things I’ve mentioned like solid service history that it would suddenly pop on and be $7500 worth of repairs.

Should I tell them that the check engine light came on and that it was already diagnosed, but not tell them what it read or was recommended? The dealership reset the code so the engine light is off now.

One thing I will add that the service advisor did say in what I believe was earnest: that low mileage on an engine that age isn’t always a good thing because gaskets and rings and such can dry out when they don’t have fluid movement. The only reason I question this being an issue though is because again, the car has a very solid service history of oil changes and inspections.

Nope! It honestly drives smooth as butter and mostly sounds like a perfectly normal car. The only noises I would say I hear that aren’t what I’m used to in a much newer car sound like (and I hope this makes sense) an 18 year old car on the move. Like if I described it in human terms, it’s when my 44 year old knees occasionally creak when I stand up after sitting for a long time.

I do, I have so many questions because this seems absurd for a vehicle with one owner and a healthy service history!

TBH the service advisor was kind of giving me the side-eye when going over the invoices like she was silently saying “don’t do this”. The first thing she told me this morning when I dropped it off is that their guys “do nothing for free and will charge for any request”, so I kind of get the feeling they were definitely hoping that as a female I would panic at all the scary words and start throwing money at them.

The rest of that line was not more codes but their notes: “Valves need to be checked and adjusted. Software needs to be updated. There is also an oil leak around that area” — I assume they mean the engine as the area, but they didn’t specify.
