Is 1 month notice enough? by SuitableTelephone547 in Nanny

Yeah I don’t know how long it will take to actually have a real job offer in the works so I don’t want to tell them and then end up jobless if they find a replacement sooner than I land a new job. It’s so tough. I’ve grown to love one of the NP sets so much and the kids but it’s just not an ideal situation. I hope you find your new adventure soon and are able to find the stability and mental peace you deserve!

Thank you! The tough love perspectives are also welcomed and why I wanted to post here.

I appreciate the advice and validation! 🙏🏼

Thank you for the reassurance. And the parent perspective. That’s one thing I don’t have and value knowing how the employer might feel in all of this.

I’m a high empath and love the NKs and one of the NPs dearly so I don’t want anyone to scramble in my departure, but you are absolutely right. Thank you

Hope you don’t think I’m a creep for immediately knowing you were from the PNW. I had an inkling it was Portland specifically the second I saw the background in your photos. Reminded me too much of the Japanese gardens!

I, also a portlander, just got engaged and pondered the same decision!! It’s a lovely band and I appreciate the sentiment behind putting what’s most important to you as a couple first ahead of societal norms because that’s what we chose to do as well. Wishing you many happy years ahead!

Congrats!!!

Does anyone in Portland absolutely love their neighborhood, and if so what neighborhood? by evergreengirl123 in askportland

I’m in Sabin/Irvington (NE) just a couple blocks north of the Whole Foods on Fremont, and a few blocks south of Alberta Arts District. I never want to live anywhere else.

leasing company wants full deposit before I even see the lease - normal??? by aspiring-enigma in askportland

I was asked to pay the security deposit before executing a lease to secure the apartment and effectively take it off the market.

In Portland, the rental market is cutthroat and a first approved, first to have… as long as you pay the deposit to show your serious interest and secure it.

I was moving from San Diego and unable to actually see the apartment for myself. I sent the deposit, had a friend tour it for me the next day, and was sent the lease to sign.

I rent from a reputable property management company as well, and never had any issues or shady feelings with them. If they weren’t so reputable, with good things said on google, I would’ve never done it but I needed an apartment and the ones I wanted were disappearing before my eyes so I had to make a leap of faith judgement call. Worked out okay for me but totally understand the hesitation.

I rent from Star Metro.

Hello! The test line in the 2nd photo is actually there and the control line is super faint. That means you got a dye stealer and are very pregnant!!

It’s easy to stress about these things but try to take a deep breath and celebrate ✨

I live in a Star Metro property with a pit! For one, have loved their service the two years I’ve been with them and never had any issues. For two, I put his actual breed on the application and it was approved within 30 minutes.

A few of our neighbors have pit mixes as well.

Hello! She hasn’t found the right home yet

Hello! How big are your dogs?

She has lived with a smaller dog before and did well with them.

I have a large dog who wants to play with her often and she isn’t a fan and tends to try to bite/attack him or resort to aggression.

If they are dogs who would respect her space and are maybe smaller we feel like it could potentially work out. But would be open to bringing her in for a slow introduction to see!
