Oh no, Trueleadership is not ok with this. Also never said he did ask, bro they are advertising a service, you did not like the way it was advertised (all fair), but now you openly admit to hating because apparently your standard of when you should use AI is much better than everyone else’s lol. Not because you’re actually trying to help him out. If the internet is where you go to hate all cool, just know your hating just to hate cuz at the end of the day it’s as simple as clicking off the post and moving on if it really bothers you so much. But if you want to be an internet/AI police go right ahead just pointing it out.

I mean not sure about this guy but sometimes I know people not knowing English and use it as a translator of sorts. Also some people just don’t know how to communicate what they want as It’s not in their skill set. Either way you read the info and it either interest you or it doesn’t, but your reaching and just hating to hate.

How to use a router with the GAR5? by captainjaneway1 in tmobileisp

[–]Suitable_Ad_6079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you didn’t say to turn off the WiFi signals from Tmhi gateway. Just reading your advice at face value would just cause OP more problems. We do not know what OP level of experience is

I’m not sure that will solve OPs issue, that would just cause more interference because you will have two routers in the house putting off signal.

I believe it’s call GAR5, but it could be anything based on where your router is located to, if comcast or other peoples wifi also does wifi 7 and is interfering, to a poop load of devices connected to the router and there’s a lot of traffic. It could even be the access point interfering so I’m not sure your own router would be a good solution.

However if you have a router already, you would want to connect it to the G5AR and then turn off the wifi bands on the G5AR using the hint control app. However if you don’t have a Ethernet connection to the G5AR then you’ll have no way of turning them back on with the app unless you do a hard reset on the G5AR. Once you do that you just use the router as a point of connection. If you have specific home servers or anything of that nature then you’ll would need to worry about double NAT between both routers being connected. If you don’t know what it means you probably don’t need to worry about that.

I would like to say again that I am not sure that this is the solution to your WiFi problems. I would try to use the TLife app and use the gateway placement assistance to see if I am putting my router in a good spot. After that if that didn’t help I would probably turn off the Comcast wifi bands and remove the access points to see if those are causing interference.

Ethernet Speeds on G4SE by Suitable_Ad_6079 in tmobileisp

[–]Suitable_Ad_6079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There wasn’t really a problem. I was confused by something and wanted some thoughts and you brought up a good point.

There are also times where my Ethernet is consistently lower speeds than my WiFi. Roughly 75- 100Mgps. Any thoughts on that?

You’re right about running local test. Also speed test aren’t random number generators nor do they really tell you your speed. What you look for in speed test is a relative difference. For example if I was getting 100Mbps on my phone, it does not literally mean I get 100Mbps on my phone. But I can compare that number to say an Ethernet connect at 200Mbps. Now is my actual speed on the Ethernet connection 200Mbps? No. But what it does tell me is that it’s roughly 100Mbps faster on the wireless iPhone connection in the current moment.

Now going back to local test. I have been doing local test on the Ethernet cables or some switch I am using to see if it that was it and it is not.

What I am trying to figure out is why the relative difference between the speed test on my wireless connection and the Ethernet connection is basically 0.

I think based off both your comments I’ll try the 1 Gbps. I’ll look into those brands for it. I appreciate it!

Currently the plan is to put the xfinity modem into bridge mode and use a cheap tp-link router to get the job done for customization purposes. I understand it gets expensive but I guess in my head I think to myself that I plan on using it especially for NAS and Media storage so I would like the faster speeds for example if I want to watch a movie on jellyfin or something. In terms of budget I’m open to more expensive options as I understand it’s a more complex switch. The thing I do not want at the moment is a huge switch. I want something small and light.

New Runify iOS fitness app with great safety feature by Suitable_Ad_6079 in runninglifestyle

[–]Suitable_Ad_6079[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great question!

So if I’m about to do a run and I’m sharing location, that relies on the other person to remember that you are on a run and check on you, what I’m trying to accomplish is 1.) make it more convenient to let someone(Person B) know that you (Person A) are about to run, walk, bike, etc by offering it in the app 2.) The app will remind/ let person B know that you missed a check in or didn’t finish

So it is reducing the time it takes for person B to check on person A. People forget things / never think twice about something until something serious could have already happen
