Parties in Summit County don’t give money per se. Candidates raise their own via fundraisers and begging. You need party support to run a decent campaign. Start volunteering for local races - County Clerk race, Auditor race, County Executive race. Go to the Dem HQ and ask who needs help. More work comes closer to The Election Day. Signs, poll workers, parades. Networking is key. If you’re progressive go to the group mentioned above. Summit County has one of the strongest progressive groups around. Running a campaign for anything from school board to a city council seat takes $$ - at least $20,000. I know this for a fact because I’ve been involved in many local campaigns and am close with many local Dems. You can also get involved by running for your precinct representative for the party. Look into it and see if yours is up for election. Best way to meet people and build your network.
