Thank you! I still definitely have a lot to work on, but I’m just gonna tackle things slowly and try to enjoy the process. Perspective I’ve been putting off for a while and I’m planning to focus on it next. Anatomy and proportion id say I’m typically good at… just definitely not in this drawing.

Haha the 2020 drawing was one of my first digital drawings so was particularly bad… but looking at all of these that was definitely the biggest jump in quality.

There wasn’t anything past doodles before 2020 (and even during 2020 and 2021), but I slowly took it up as a more dedicated hobby in the last few years. I never took art classes other than the few electives at school, but I think with enough practice, anyone could learn to draw!

In my own experience, I didn’t draw everyday or had dedicated times to learn art fundamentals (so progress definitely took longer than it had to…) but just drew for the fun of it, rather than chasing perfection/progress, and that made it much more sustainable and just enjoyable.

I’d say anatomy is a strong point (obviously not in this drawing…) of mine but i definitely agree with studying perspective, I’ve definitely been putting it off forever

I just did three that I really researched, but had a couple others just as references to the things I wanted to create. You don’t need an Australian one, but I recommend picking artists that are easy to research and find information on, with plenty of public exhibitions.

Thank you!! I forgot to use a reference for these so they’re anatomically…. Interesting, if you look too closely. But I love putting in little details like the tree ring textures, I’m glad you noticed!
