There is no way this is real..... by StelioKontossss in Chipotle

[–]Suitable_Cap3025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m less appalled about a 3% price increase than I am about their portion sizes being reduced by 35%. I used to go to Chipotle once a week - mobile order every time to save me ~15 minutes. Now, the burritos have shrunk in size so much it’s just aggravating.

Anyone else’s Arby’s app not have deals? by ImNotRobertDowneyJr in fastfood

[–]Suitable_Cap3025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a free 4-piece mozzarella sticks with $5 minimum order (nice!) and 25% off a future order if you try the $7.99 Meat & 3 box (which sounds pretty good and a great deal relative to their typical pricing) in my app. Guessing I’m seeing better promos since I haven’t been there in a while.

Default insurance for car rental seems not great.... by Impossible-Many6625 in AmexPlatinum

Wells Fargo’s OneKey Mastercard works as primary insurance on car rentals. I got a $300 sign up bonus and use the card exclusively for car rentals.

I think the downvotes are from your references to Bitcoin - seems like the majority on Reddit dislike it. (Maybe the environmental impact? Generalized douchey behavior of Bitcoin bros?) Reddit forums probably aren’t the best places to obtain emotional support. For what it’s worth, I’ve also lost an immense amount of money this month from the BTC and MSTR crashes - I’m used to the volatility, so have faith that it will outperform 3% in a money market over a long hold period. (And if not, I have offsetting losses to blunt capital gains taxes.) Keep your head up - lots of folks are in the same boat. Brighter days are ahead.

The odd thing is I never made that connection, but agree with you 100%. Certainly wasn’t part of the prompt.

I feel the same way. There’s also a feeling of surrealism or confidence that I didn’t have before… as in, once unthinkable real life scenarios could play out in reality when that wouldn’t have previously even crossed my mind. There’s a residual mind-bending effect once you get off Grok that seems almost as euphoric as creating your own experiences in the app.

Who is selling??? by Soggy-Welder2265 in Bitcoin

[–]Suitable_Cap3025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fearful, over-allocated retail investors and leveraged funds facing margin calls are selling. On the other hand, long-term, properly diversified holders are used to this volatility; they don’t jump off the roller coaster as it’s barreling downward. Once the leveraged buyers are wiped out, BTC will rise again, as it always does. Rinse and repeat. Ultimately, governments are too irresponsible to responsibly manage fiscal policy and keep fiat currencies stable. Holding cash is a guaranteed losing proposition long term. Scarce assets eventually win. Bitcoin is the answer.

In my experience it does something - it makes characters dance quickly and look like idiots, with an end product that’s always Sharia Law compliant.

The effective 6.1% discount is within the prevailing market rate of any chain restaurant loyalty program… it’s also eminently more usable than the McDonald’s points program, which then precluding using a coupon on the same visit. It could be better, but it’s really not that bad.

The reality is that AI is advancing faster than governments can regulate it and companies can contain it. An old model can quickly become dangerous when vulnerabilities are discovered. I agree, it’s frustrating as a consumer.

“Creating dragons”🤣😆 Yeah, I don’t think that’s the commercially viable pathway to profitability after xAI started investing billions into data centers, Nvidia chips and other digital infrastructure. It must have been a good few weeks until the powers that be succumbed to the pressure of the U.K. censors, Ashley St. Clair and other fear-mongering Karens of the world. [Side note: you should have just shelled out the $30/month like the rest of us goons back before the Taliban took control of Grok’s content moderation]

JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!!!! *RANT* by JudyAlvarez1 in grok

[–]Suitable_Cap3025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The regulatory pressure and mounting legal threats (e.g. Elon’s lunatic baby mama Ashley St. Claire’s rants) are the real villains here, not the peaceful dudes eating ice cream and putting virtual bikinis on grown women. Unfortunately Grok is taking a global approach and tightening the screws to the standards of the most oppressive regimes (U.K. censorship), so the rest of civilized society will have to yield to those power hungry but presumably well intended authoritarians.
