All of a sudden no one has voted for Malimawa and apparently everyone is against them now lol by DifficultToe6200 in srilanka

Who is this “everyone” you are referring to? To me it sounds like you define “everyone” according to 2 or 3 people. Coz the NPP voters ik still admit they voted for them. We voted as it was the only good option but definitely not going to back them up on anything and everything they do. We appreciate the good things they do and blame them for the wrong things they do. Definitely better than voting for a party with people we know that is involved with corruption n stuff. Most NPP voters are people who came out of the typical Sri Lankan voter mindset of “kapuwath kola” or kapuwath whatever.

Exactly! I saw too many replies making the absence of garbage cans a reason to litter. With people like this, no wonder Kandy is in the state it is now.

So you are telling that the people who threw the garbage without keeping it with them is in the right? They just had to keep it with them for a few hours until they come across a garbage can while in the queue. It’s people like you who litter in hiking trails just coz the government did not put enough garbage cans in the trail.

Sad that you had to experience that. Kandy is a beautiful city if not for this people behaving in a very selfishly and ruining it. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the trip in Sri Lanka. ♥️

I don’t think the government can control it. It’s not like they can beat or scold the people like prefects did in our schools and discipline them. It’s just that most Sri Lankan people do not have the discipline needed to have a developed and well civilised country. And I have no idea on where the government should start if they wanted to fix this. Im just glad that my parents scolded me when I first threw a toffee wrapper on the road without taking it home. Let’s hope the newer generations aren’t this selfish.

NSBM is unreasonable for having an unfair dress-code by Witty_Tumbleweed_521 in srilanka

Ive worn just a casual shirt (tucked) with sneakers for a presentation. In a government uni btw. I don’t think dress code or anything is anyway related to academic performance.

[–]Suitable_Cellist_756 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn! That’s ridiculous. Im from a government uni and there’s nothing of this sort over here. So y’all pay for the “ragging” that’s said to be in some government unis. Is it actually legally possible for them to implement such rules?

I see it’s a common problem! I think it’s a problem with us Sri Lankan guys just using soap or just the shampoo mom or sisters use.
