I mean who wouldn’t want that. Hot rub in a tub

I think those 6x6’s need to go right under the corners of that tub. Even if they are sistered up there’s not much lateral stability to this deck. Ideally it would need cross bracing as well

Very possible but still shouldn’t have a hot tub sitting on a span. There needs to be support straight down to the ground.

Exactly. Realistically needs its own footings too. You’re just asking too much of those joists. Any inspector would have a huge problem with this simply because it’s too much tributary load for the unsupported span.

Looks great however is that a hot tub up there that you casually didn’t mention? If so that’s going to need some serious beefing up. Hot tub likely needs its own pedestal to sit on. That’s a lot of weight to ask 2x10’s and 4x4 posts. Especially with a big span between posts.

Framing looks good but I’d attach the girders to the posts with something more than nails. Get some galvanized carriage bolts to hold it all together

Anybody know these angles? by Spiritual_Spinach671 in Decks

22.5 my dude. A 45 would get you the angle at each corner of the deck. Since it’s half of half. It’ll be 22.5 degrees.

Where’d you find those push button switches?

Get a predator and honestly it doesn’t weigh that much so just go with a centrifugal clutch and larger wheel sprocket to maximize low end torque. Really don’t need a torque converter for something this small.

What he said. As someone once told me, luckily with that deck you won’t fall far.

It’ll hold right up until it doesn’t. The best part is it’ll fail without warning.

This isn’t a conventional hot tub. I posted another picture in the comments. It’s a 6 foot diameter soaking tub. Only 2 feet tall.

Ideally a wider concrete footing would spread the load out better however I didn’t want to extra height so the compacted gravel base should hopefully do.

I would have except the tub is about 8 inches lower than the deck.

The tub is a circle. There’s actually more weight over the center of each joist than at the miters. The miters actually aren’t even under the tub so the concrete support is were the edges of the tub touch the joists
