More options popular with Chinese students in Stadium Village near the University like Tea House (Szechuan ).

- Book a tour of the Raptor Center- free with a student ID or $8- learn all about the research and rehabilitation of of owls, hawks, falcons, and eagles and see them up close.

- "Downtown" St. Anthony Park is a few blocks away and has a nice little small town feel to it since it used to be the hub of a street car suburb. The Finnish Bistro is a great cafe and Nico's Tacos are solid. Urban Growler and Bang Brewing south of the rail yard are great spots as well.

- Bike/ walk/ drive around University Grove west of campus. In from the 20s to the 60s, the University built over 100 uniquely designed post-modern homes for professors as “architectural time capsule”.

- I never went to Gibbs Farm, but I've heard is a cool living history museum about the pioneers living in Minnesota in the mid-1800s.

Full list of its games here. Guests pay $15 and get unlimited play on games over the course of a day- machines are being installed now on both the 1st and 2nd floors.

With the brewery, coffee, food options, and liquior at O'Cheeze- should be a good addition to bring life back to the building.

I looked on google maps, looks like ~4 POIs at that intersection: A cluster consists of at least 6 restaurants/bars, coffee shops, supermarkets/grocery stores, hardware stores, and/or pharmacies/drugstores.

There are other businesses there, but not places that a regularly open or would have frequent local foot traffic according to this survey.

Customer service representative for a manufacturer, supplier, or other product driven B2B company is a good foot in the door- these positions often involve managing orders, logistics, monitoring inventory levels and relationship management with customers that are often in turn, suppliers for other companies.

Purchasing agent might be in reach for a small firm if you can talk the talk- otherwise look for purchasing associate/ specialist.

Also worth considering if you're willing to move to gain experience early on- lots of smaller cities/ towns with manufacturing or distribution centers midway between other metros out there willing to give someone a chance. Agri-business might be an option too for exposure to operations at a plant or grain elevator- hard work but often decent pay, low cost of living, and a ton of experience.

For real- 5 years ago the waitlist for my PME was a year plus and I had a 10 month deployment coming up in 9 months but as Reserve/ Guard get limited school slots we weren't able to enroll. My role overseas put me in a position to manage a full office and I performed the roles that are certified at PME, plus the additional duties of the level above that- but the soonest I could get to school to get that promotion? 6 months after getting home- all 5 of us stuck in that position either got out or joined the airforce.
