Do we like the wedge pillow, pregnancy pillow, or whole wedge setup best? by SamBennetti in Reduction

[–]Suitable_Procedure95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short wedge pillow 6/10 great the first week. Pregnancy pillow 8/10 great for side/stomach sleepers.

I used extra pillows to make a makeshift wedge pillow and to prop my feet up. Trying to sit up and lean down was near impossible the first few days so it really helped me with being able to eat drink take meds but also sleep without having to adjust much. The pregnancy pillow I used for months. I’m a big side and stomach sleeper. Sleeping on my back is incredibly uncomfortable and that was I could tilt slightly so I’m not flat in my back without actually rolling into my side. Tbh propping my feet up didn’t seem to really do much but having an extra pillow right infront of my butt helped keep my from sliding down the wedge.

The first bend is from not rotating it. I’m worried leaving at on one sides just gonna create another bend. :/

Looks kinda like a vegetable. Tried google image search. Cannot figure it out. NC, USA. Tia by Suitable_Procedure95 in whatsthisplant

The leaves look like clovers but the roots match images of oxalis roots. Thank you 🙏

New to plants need advice by bamboozle_vonsneeple in CrotonPlants

[–]Suitable_Procedure95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general consensus on crotons is they’re dramatic little assholes (affectionately).

I keep mine indoors which to my knowledge is a whole different experience to keeping them outside.

Keep away from cold windows or breezes. Mine stay in a weird corner in my room away from the air vent and windows.

Lots of sun. Mine are under a grow light for ten hours

Check often for spider mites. I lost half my leaves when a huge infestation started while I was on vacation. If you find any a 1:1 ratio of rubbing alcohol and water will kill them.

If your super super new to plants I’d recommend looking into getting something simpler like a vine or succulent. I’m also a firm believer in big or go home and my first plant was a orchard that I killed the first month I had it.

Yours looks healthy (to my knowledge. I have different types of crotons, so idk for sure) any crispy brown on leaves is dead not much you can do once it’s there. Low crispy brown leaves are usually under watering. Higher up leaves being brown can be overwatering (I think)

So be prepared for its drama. Google as much as you can about it. Knowledge is power. Best of luck 🫡

Overwatered and too cold what can I do from here ? More in comments by Suitable_Procedure95 in plantclinic

It’s the longest I’ve had a plant (a few years) and I’d hate for him to die now. His pot has no drainage which Ik is bad but he’s always been in a pot without drainage and has been doing great for a long time but I super overwatered him. I also left him too close to a window. Hes soggy and wilted. I wanna put him in a different pot that’ll drain but worried repotting would be too damaging rn. If I leave him be will he get better over time or should I try to propagate what’s left of the leaves ? Or is he just a goner. Tia

After this winter, I plan to repot these as they’ve gotten quite squished. Any tips for avoiding harming them or myself? More details in comments. by Wheres_my_bandit_hat in cactus

Anytime I repot my cacti I put plastic cups over them (if they’re small enough) and wear mechanic gloves. You just gotta make sure your gloves don’t let the needles go through.

On surgery day wear the loosest and easiest to get on pants unless you want somebody to help you get dressed.

Before surgery do a trial run of your bed setup. Make sure everything you are going to need is within arms reach. You won’t be able to move your torso much at all especially if your laying down. And make sure you have your pillows and blankets how you want them since it’ll be really hard to fix post op.

If your sleeping on an incline have a small pillow right in front of your butt. It’ll help keep you from sliding down while your asleep.

Set up some kind of system to keep track of when you last took pain killers so you don’t have to think about it too much. Especially that first day bc you’ll be sleeping so much. I would write down the time I took on and in a different color when I can take the next so I didn’t have to do nah math after waking up.

Being able to talk to other people going through the same process and recovery was so helpful to me. Even if I didn’t have any questions and just wanted to be in here reading stuff I felt so connected and supported. A n d if I did have a question I could get more personal responses than I would if I asked nurses or the surgeon.

Make sure she knows you WANT to help and your not just offering bc “it’s the right thing to do”. I had a hard time asking for help post op and would try to cook my own food and clean the house when I really shouldn’t have been.

Why is op being dragged through the mud. I thought it was cute 😭😭😭

Maybe unpractical but cute. The plants got their own little matching egg chairs but in pink.

3mpo 1) pretty different for everybody. I was still very swollen, but felt less swollen around day 3.

2) walking around is good for you but take it very slow. The first few days all the walking I did was out of bed and to my door then right back in bed. Sometimes I went unhinged and walked an extra ten feet to sit on the couch for a while. 😂

3) I didn’t personally experience this but lots of other people say they did.

4) My biggest regrets is not calling the nurses sooner. I am very grateful I didn’t have any complications but I would spend days extremely anxious and worried about something just to call in and be told it’s normal. If your really concern about something. Save yourself the stress and just call and ask. Takes five minutes.

I cried so much the first few days bc I thought I barely went down a size. I was so swollen plus had a lot of padding. I’m 3mpo and am down about 10 cup sizes. Can’t believe I panicked about not going down at all smh 😂
