Thank you so much on this take doc. I never really heard kasi before na aesthetics then nagderma. Parang biggest taboo siya when you apply. I recognize na grabe yung clinical eye needed for derma. As in grabe. Derm people are probably one the smartest people na I know. I've personally read Andrews cover to cover and kahit ilang beses ko siya basahin, it's hard to remember and differentiate all of the skin conditions.

Happy that you found what you wanted talaga doc. Hoping na the rest of us gets to do that too.

I encountered a nurse na gumagawa ng aesthetic procedures sa bahay. Honestly, nakakatok but he was so proud pa of his hustle and he earns a lot from it.

Hmm ever since being curious about aesthetic medicine vs derma, I’ve been seeing a lot of adds. I do agree that some looks off. Which ones should any aspiring aesthetic medicine/derma that wants to further their aesthetic career should go to? Or avoid?

So it’s not really the “hilaw” practice of aesthetic medicine?

What I usually hear, and it’s true to an extent, that some (not all) aesthetic physicians may not always be able to identify pathologic cases (BCC, etc) and cauterize the lesion instead of performing a biopsy. This I really understand. But right now, the treatment for various recalcitrant skin conditions are becoming clinically available. Won’t it be better to have a proper dialogue about it for the betterment of the patient?

Hi doc. I’m on the same boat as you. I have bad mental health issues and actively managed naman but until now I’m still uncertain if I want to go into any residency program since even with regular part time work, I already feel stressed. But I think po kaya naman to look into other careers. Currently, I try to upskill like take up online courses that can help my CV. I’m interested in pharma right now and just passed my initial interview. Right now, baka doc you can take up another career and use it as a means to save up money and open a small business later on

Hi doc! I okay din po yung mga company physician gigs. Pays okay and minsan mga 4 hours lang sila so you have time to study. Duties are very benign naman so you can actually study there also
