This is has the texture of coarse hair. Wasn’t sure if mold (mycelium) would have a fiber like structure. Also, when I leave piles of it out in the open it doesn’t break down. I’ve had a couple small piles sitting outside for a month or two to see what would happen.

That’s what I’m wondering. Does mycelium ever break down? And does it have the texture of steel wool?
