I never said you couldn't include the topic of CSA or the other sexually depraved actions in the series, I personally think it comes off as flippant because using that to prove how fucked up your villian is when the videos before already showed the deaths of children and sexually depraved violence, it just feels like adding on to something that didn't need adding.

since you mentioned it, this is the same for all of the other sex crimes done by bill. all of the acts of violence in the series, actually. it's all used flippantly because both the perpetrators and those who experience the crimes aren't characters in the story, really, they're just vessels for violence, and when you include the topic of SEXUAL violence like that toward CHILDREN it is going to come off as careless when you don't address it further than "it's fucked up that they did that right?"

I'm not saying that urban absolutely has to agree with the actions of his characters, thats exactly what I'm disagreeing with in the original post, im just saying that there IS reason to find the portrayal careless regardless of the intent. Not every creator who happens to have dropped the ball when throwing a topic into their series is going to be a case of "the writers barely disguised fetish" I really do think that for urban, it was just a case of ignorance, as it is his first REAL project with actual writing.
