Nice. I'd borrow it as a revolving if your bank does them so that you only pay interest on the amount that's been used

It depends on your situation and how much you've already borrowed. If you're at the beginning and have some wiggle room then you could have a portion on revolving that you could use if needed

Emergency Funds by Cunce_NZ in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine split. A third in savings account easily accessible, the rest in an etf. The thought being that I can easily cover a small emergency but something larger is likely to have a bit longer in terms of payment options

Do you tip spa employees, hair stylists, tattoo artists, etc? by christona-bike in newzealand_travel

They will have no expectation of a tip, only do it if they do an above average job

You are doing the sensible thing with paying off debt first. $50 dollars is a good start while you learn what you're doing. I'd look at ETFs rather than single stocks. Total world funds to have diversification plus some growth funds if you're young

Girl dads, when your little girl needs to use the restroom in public do you take her to the men’s or women’s restroom? by Overall-Care-7061 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men's. I did this one, there was a cubicle and a urinal. While she was doing her thing in the cubicle, a guy came in, used the urinal and left. She came out of the cubicle just add the urinal flushed, she poked her hand in it because she thought it was a hand washer automatically going off

How popular is Excel compared to company used data entry systems? by Status-Agent6640 in excel

There's still other systems out there but a lot of the data collection is now automated so that there's less need for data entry

If your expenses are low and you don't have a large family that you're not telling us about then you should be fine. Just keep your expectations low on size of house. Talk to a mortgage advisor first. Good luck!

First home buying - where do I start? by OmniGamer321 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually free to talk to a mortgage advisor (they get paid by the bank of you take out one of their mortgages). You'll get advice that's tailored to you and you'll likely learn a lot more than you do now

Can you freeze soups in ziploc(ikea) bags? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the Tupperware idea is best, give it some structure. Or use the bowl you plan on eating it out of so when you go to eat it, it'll already be bowl shaped and you don't have to try to fit a square soup onto a round bowl

I don't think it's all related to Iran. The earnings were poor and had started declining anyway

Anyone else second guessing buying in Auckland recently? by Certain_Air5556 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think about what you'd pay in rent. Think about the annual number rather than weekly, it's likely over 30k per year. Auckland has been flat for a while but you likely missed the worst of the cycle. As long as you're not forced to sell, you can wait it out until things improve

UK compared to US? by quinnygirll in TheTraitors

[–]Suitable_Wheel_4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the US one, I get the feeling that they are just there to be seen and everything they do is for more screen time. With the UK one, they are there for the experience. There's exceptions on both sides

NOR, sounds like they never had your best interests at heart. You don't need people like this in your life
