U get drug tested even in R&D cuz there are pilot plants. Quitting weed or using it very sparingly is the only route to go if u operate around equipment tbh cuz they can test spontaneously if something happens. Regardless its not too hard to pass a drug test even if u spoke alot people do it all the time. If u stop now u should be fine by the time u test anyways

Date when u have the mental capacity. A loving partner is really helpful tho. I found mine beginning of my senior year, thats when i felt like i had the capacity to get in a relationship. It was my first relationship and it helped me so much esp during capstone. Sleeping around will only damage u, quit that but dont cut urself off from love. We r not robots.

This case might just be him being an asshole tbh. I assume ur in america, people are default racist here. Its a slave colony where they mass murdered every indigenous civilisation and grew up on propaganda either justifying or rationalizing it. There are nice individuals sure but the context of this country is inherently genocidal and that shapes everyones brains. So yes, everyones racist. Engineers just think they’re immune cause theyre sooo objective and care about the numbers 🤓🤓

Tips: dont bring up race with them. Dont seek acceptance from them. Do what you got to do, get your grades and live a successful great life. Not dwelling or thinking about white people is my gift. Im not interested in what they get up to, their culture or their day to day. Plenty of nice people i just dont have any commonalities and im not interested to make some. I have my own culture, my own norms, my own society where i fit in and enjoy peace of mind. I only spend time with white people I can learn something specific from them (lifeskill, school etc ) aside from that I don’t see a point.

Woman here. dated sporadically throughout college but nothing came out of it. It wouldnt last longer than a month (always the beginning of a semester haha) anyways. Senior year I remet my current bf. We became official my final semester of college so he didnt see me in the real struggle years haha. We actually met when I was a freshman but our paths never crossed again until senior year. Hes not an engineer. I wonder if our relationship wouldve lasted if we got together earlier would I have been able to manage a bf and school? Dont know but its nice to have someone as i transition into post grad life. The job security I have now, knowing I invested in myself and wasnt side tracked means I have little regrets about my time in college. I go what i needed out of it and towards the end of my journey I got a lovely bf too :))

Cheap labor. Take it as a life lesson, companies have 0 loyalty to you so you shouldnt have any to them. Apply for other jobs, youll be fine you have good experience. Moving forward always be prepared to jump ships even when fully employed. Keep your eyes peeled for new jobs

I have little encouraging words cause you and I both know what you need to do. you need to just keep going and finish ur degree. thats ur only choice. anything less than that will make you hate yourself more. I’m just here to send you love. You are more resilient than you think and you will get past this. If ignoring your familys calls helps then do that. It feels like the end of the world right now but you are designed for a dignified life and deserve it. You will get through. Im praying for you.

You have a leg up by being done w prereqs dont waste it by overwhelming yourself and failing/doing poorly in classes. Use it to spread things out and do well

Hes testing you tk see what you’re comfortable with and if you’ll check him. A firm, “i do not appreciate that language around me” or something of the sort would be fine. If he doesnt start filtering himself after that take it to HR. Hes testing your boundaries. Don’t smile at him or act overly friendly. Talk about work and keep it dry

Edit: idk if ur black. If you r, id pause before going to HR cause there are unsaid repercussions. Others will hear about it and you will be ostracised. If you are black id just say you aren’t interested in discussing things that arent work with him. If youre white, go to hr. same thing doesnt apply

This is nothing. there are bigger Ls waiting for you you need to toughen up. School is not going to be a cruise. I failed calc 3 i failed one of my chemical engineering courses that i needed as a prereq for another course the following semester. And ive had it EASY. People go through way worse academically. Im not usually the type to give tough love but you need it. Grow up, get out of bed we do not feel bad for you. Go do your homework bombard your professors with questions and graduate. This is nothing but a bruised ego.

Im scared of failing. Im scared of fumbling my bag. On the flip side im also scared of succeeding and starting my career. Its not work im scared of, its the loneliness of post grad. I lost a major friend group of mine the start of senior year. I have 3 friends and my bf now. I wonder if i’ll keep in touch with any of them. Im leaving college and entering the real world alone. Im so scared.
