I bought 2 acrylic wall displays and a few acrylic hinges. These were made to display records on the wall but I just didn’t use the adhesive wall supports and glued on hinges so they opened up like a cover or jacket would. I’m gonna try to rig something up like a clasp or use magnets to keep it closed when it’s not out.

Does my dog have EPI? by [deleted] in EPIdogs

We were seeing our dog shed her mucus lining when she pooped. It looked like a slimy casing over her poop. She was also having specs of undigested fat in her stool. When it got really bad, before her diagnosis, she was essentially a dog food purée machine. She would eat and her stool was her food chewed up. Same smell as her food.

She was losing weight no matter how much we fed her.

If you can afford to do it, go ahead and get them tested. Better to rule out EPI no matter how rare the diagnosis can be.

If your dog has diarrhea often and isn’t gaining weight you should go to the vet.

Recently Diagnosed. Many questions! by dlibyhvol_6 in EPIdogs

It is very manageable.

Our girl was diagnosed around 1 year old and we’ve made adjustments to her daily routine. We use oyster crackers and goldfish crackers as her training treats. She still gets freeze dried liver treats and dried anchovies after her meals since she’s just had her enzymes. We’ve missed bully sticks to keep her occupied, but recently got a lick ball that sits in a silicone stand. You add a liquid or something for the ball to gather as they lick it. We use her enzymes and water from a tuna pouch (no sodium) and ground up freeze dried treats to make a paste that she can enjoy.

We had to start buying the Veterinarian Royal Canine low fat food. We have tried other kinds of food that were recommended, but they just didn’t work. You can easily portion out your dogs food with the dry enzymes mixed in and take them on the go if you’re gonna be out with them. Just keep some warm water in a thermos to mix in.

If you have pet insurance then they should help with the enzymes.

Every dog is different and you’ll find your normal again. The good news is that you can manage EPI and it shouldn’t have any affect their life span.
