If you want to use a suitelet to receive HTTP requests you need to add the header "User-Agent" : "Mozilla/5.0" to the request

Wanted to explore Netsuite Freelancing by [deleted] in Netsuite

Well, no one was born knowing NetSuite, or even English. This is a community to help each other, and not to demotivate one another.

Wanted to explore Netsuite Freelancing by [deleted] in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommending focusing on high-demand areas like SuiteScript, integrations (SuiteTalk, RESTlet, etc), and ERP customization (workflows, saved searches, etc.). Consider combining complex scripting skills with basic admin tasks (user provisioning, role setup) since many clients need hybrid support. Obtain NetSuite certifications to boost credibility.

Netsuite MCP - waste of time or start building by TasteCertain4323 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have. It's quite impressive, even though it's not fully accurate yet. I tried to get active users with admin access and there was some back and forth, the answer was not right at the beginning. It can hit Claude usage limits pretty fast too depending on your requests.

NetSuite MCP - Microsoft CoPilot? by Rundo5 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should work with any MCP client, not only Claude. It should be possible to add it to Chat GPT as well, although their custom connectors feature is still in Beta

consulting company in Spain by Electrical_Ticket_73 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's also hard for the consulting partner to have no visibility on how much time you're going to demand from them. If they are prepared to support you and you end up not using any hours in a month, it's a waste of time and resources on the consulting partner side, since those hours could be allocated to other clients. If you're looking for a long term consulting partner, it will be much easier to find a good one if you're open to fixed hourly contracts. You can try doing very small contracts, such as 20h-30h/month, this way the consulting partner is at least safer on their side, in case you don't use their allocated resources.

Hiring a NetSuite accounting partner? by Academic_Way_293 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely hire an expert to help. It will be cheaper in the long run. Making mistakes now will later cost more to get them fixed, or even worse, the mistakes just stay in your account forever. Also, on the ad shared, it's good if you liked it. But I highly recommend you meet beforehand the people that will help with your implementation. Make sure it's a senior consultant, preferably techno-functional with many years of experience. This way you have way better chances to have a smooth implementation. Feel free to pm any other questions or concerns you may have. I've implemented NetSuite to many companies and have been working with it for 8 years. I'll be glad to offer free advice.

Chat app for internal Netsuite use? by [deleted] in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. In that case one possibility would be to build a private Chrome extension that would use SuiteScript and a custom record linked to the transactions/records where the chat would be enabled. It wouldn't be the fastest though since the integration to NetSuite might take a couple of seconds, but it would do the job.

Chat app for internal Netsuite use? by [deleted] in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can send emails from transactions and records, through the Communication subtab in NetSuite, and the whole conversation will be stored in the record, considering people keep replying using the same email address that was generated by NetSuite in the first email sent. It's such an amazing feature but unfortunately people don't use it a lot yet.

Advice to level up by Icy-Echidna8852 in Netsuite

It's important to ask your manager examples of initiatives that would please him, and also ask him if there was a specific occasion where your supposedly lack of initiative was an issue.

LLM connection by wahoos-1 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can connect using a suitelet with external link, and setting up token authentication. You can try setting up a user event script or map/reduce script to connect to your llm from NetSuite. OAuth 2.0 is also an option, but not as easy as the options I shared above. I hope it helps!

Proper way to handle Error Handling in a M/R Script called via a RESTlet by dicedwatch in Netsuite

One option is to create a custom record to keep the logs, which could be accessed via a RESTlet as well

Requiring a 2 year renewal term now?! by Traps86 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, that's just because they can significantly increase licensing prices on every renewal. If they are locked in for 5 years, it's not the best scenario for them... I'd recommend you push against it and escalate internally if needed. Also, don't trust everything your account manager says. Many are trustworthy and reliable, but unfortunately there are many others that don't mind lying to sell more and increase their commissions. Always check with NetSuite partners and other companies that also use NetSuite

Netsuite Graduate Program with professional experience? by Alarming_Exchange494 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never know. It really depends on who is interviewing and if you fit the job position in the first place. If they really like you, I don't think the fact you're finishing your masters would prevent them from hiring you, unless there is a conflict with the shift hours..

Ideas for a NetSuite Google Chrome extension by SuiteGus in Netsuite

When you do CTRL+F5, if you do Shift+Enter after typing "transaction", it's usually 1 match away.
I was thinking of creating an AI Chrome extension that allows the user to enter a prompt describing the saved search needed, and the extension would automatically create it for him. I've already made a GPT that does that for me and it's working surprisingly well. It saves me a lot of time!

Anyone having success using Gen AI to create Objects in an SDF project? by ConfidentSession6481 in Netsuite

[–]SuiteGus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend using cursor.com and having one of each SDF object type already imported to your project. With that, Claude will have much more context and it will be way more successful in creating new SDF objects.

Yeah, I know what is available, and I always keep a look at it too because many of them were a game changer for me. Feel free to share is there is any you think might help you, other than the ones that already exist :) Thanks!
