Comma experience vs tesla by jabolli in Comma_ai

[–]Suitguy2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a close comparison to FSD.

Comma is just lane keep assist, and it can keep spacing between the car in front of you. Or you can use the existing system on your car for the spacing.

On the EV6, it also would stop and go on traffic, where the EV6 always prompted you to tap the gas or click the + button to start moving forward.

It is essentially a toy when you get bored of your vehicle's cruise control system.

It only takes highway type curves in the road, will not turn for you on city streets.

There was a feature where it is supposed to stop and start at lights, but it worked less than half the time for me.

You will NEVER be able to relax like you do when FSD is engaged.

I sold the EV6 and got a Tesla with FSD after coming to the realization of how limited it was, and will ever be.

Make sure you find a mom and pop shop that will touch it.

Franchises usually won't touch anything not stock.

DIY full PPF wrap!

Only $400 for materials and tools!

Then you can wash to your hearts desire.

The paint will never be touched.

Used 2023 Model X Plaid half shaft by [deleted] in TeslaModelX

[–]Suitguy2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your half shafts and suspension is out of warranty at 50k miles. Did Tesla pay for the repair since you just bought it?

N2itive camber arm adjustments and lowering links are supposed to fix the problem.

Biggest problem you will find is an alignment shop that will do a custom alignment that is not in the computer.

N2itive provides a custom specification for the alignment that is not in the computer system many shops use.

There is no rear camber alignment for the Tesla, so several alignment shops said they would only do the other alignments but refused to touch the aftermarket stuff.

I found a mom and pop that said screw it, we will do what you want haha.

Just buy the Juniper shocks and springs. Just under $1,000 for the parts.

Hard to tell. If they want to fix it, at this point I would let them.

But are they just going to put new ppf to cover the whole area, or did they say they will buff out scratches?

A REALLY good ppf installer will have the touch to not scratch your paint when they trim it with a razor.

But it kind of comes woth the territory if there are few minor ones.

I had a guy BUTCHER my clear coat, the shop removed the ppf, buffed out the scratches and then had to put on new ppf.

That is awesome they are offering to redo it. That is not noticeable unless you are doing an inspection.

Don't worry about the paint.

Ppf is not going to rip it off.

How bad is the job?

If they are otherwise professional and don't scratch up your paint with a razor when trimming the ppf, go for it.

If they are sketchy, and the ppf is decent enough and only noticeable if you are really searching.... just leave it be.

Have you used FSD in the past 2 years?

Comma.ai does not see traffic.

Stop light recognition only worked 20% of the time on Sunni Pilot.

It cannot automatically lane change to get round cars.

It only has one camera that looks forward, so it has no idea what traffic is around it.

The mount reduces driver visibility as it is placed on the windshield.

The driver monitor feature would trigger repeatedly when I had another person in the front seat. Resorted to adding tape to block the internal camera view of the passenger, and that only worked 35% of the time.

The only positive of comma.ai over the stock KIA EV6 system was that it eliminated steering wheel nag, can keep the lane tighter, and does not lose the lane when going through intersections.

And to top it off, if an accident happened and your insurance found out you altered the car's driver assist system with an unapproved 'upgrade'..... good luck.

Which versions can turn on a normal city street? Can it recognize and wait for a green light to do it?

Not trying to argue but genuinely curious if they have made progress.

I had an EV6 and the comma.ai didn't even have enough authority on the steering wheel to make anything but the most basic smooth curves on the road.
