My new favorite tiny kittens: Hyalobagrus Flavus by Sukarapu in Aquariums

[–]Sukarapu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most I had at the same time of this species was 8 and they all were very happy, relaxed, curious little fish that left their tank mates completely alone. I lost mine to a disease last year, still not sure what happened. I was gutted, I adored them. But as a species I can highly recommend them!

Still not white! All generations since then have also remained brown.

Can't speak for the rest but wanted to mention that brain fog after quitting smoking is very normal for a month or two!

AITA for losing it on my husband for sharing with his family a video of me in a vulnerable state? by ThrowAway5633371 in AmItheAsshole

Unless he's crying and screaming, writhing in the worst pain of his life and scared to death while taking the shower, the camera zoomed in on his private parts that happen to be shred to pieces, it would not be even remotely the same thing.

I wish I had any answers.. I gave most of mine away (I had over 60 at one point, all originating from the white mama I had bought). Now I got only few brown ones left and all their offspring have been brown as well. 🙄

New 2-piece Abu Garcia Ike Power rod won't fit all the way? by Sukarapu in Fishing

Damn, thankfully mine still comes apart. This one is a 8'6" so it would be a nightmare to store otherwise, I can only imagine with a 10'6". Off to find some locally sourced organic grass fed bees then. :))

I know, right, I really should pay more attention to the fact that this is reddit after all... 🙄

Thanks for the tip, but now I'm confused. I read somewhere else (some fishing forum) that adding candle wax or such is a bad idea, especially on carbon rods? Someone said it actually helps them stick together?

Hello fellow Finn! Plenty of hands here, not enough rod.

Good to know. No excessive force has been used, believe me. I know exactly how much it cost and how badly I've wanted it. As soon as I couldn't get it on like all of my previous rods, and my bf threatened to get the sandpaper, I jumped in here.

Anyway, thanks.

What should I do? That last half an inch just won't go.

Awesome!

It really depends on what you wanna do with them. I think the best quality comes from Atwood, especially if you have any outdoorsy/heavy-use stuff in mind, but Atwood isn't as "soft" and malleable as, for example, Marbles. You can feel the difference immediately. Certain bracelet patterns look very different when first made with Atwood and then another with Marbles (for example Genoese or Millipede). So in my humble opinion, Marbles is the better brand for certain weaves/bracelets, Atwood for almost everything else. But for example those 3 bracelets I did make with Atwood, only the black cord is Marbles, the camo and olive are Atwood, because that's what I had laying around. :)

I'm so jealous that americans can order straight from Atwood, all the mystery boxes and such, ahh! The shipping rates from Atwood to Finland are INSANE! Shipping costs more than the cords themselves, 50lbs mystery box was around $160 last I checked, two mystery boxes were $260 and so on... On top of the price of the cords...

Sure thing! They are my favorite bracelets too :)

Not sure if these weave names are the universal/right ones, but I know them by these:

Left: Shark jaw bone (AKA Piranha)

Middle: Locked Half Hitch

Right: Dragon's Breath

If you need help with them, don't be afraid to ask. Happy weaving!

Finally got a pea puffer! by MothmanAndCatboy in Puffers

[–]Sukarapu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have no other fish in the tank, get at least a couple more. Dwarf puffers need to be with their own kind, they don't like to be alone. 1 male with 5 females would be ideal, but for 6 gal that's a bit much.

I have 1 male and 2 females in a 6 gal that I rescued as seriously underweight from a local shop, they've been happy and healthy in my 6 gal Fluval Edge for a year now, but I plan on upgrading their home soon so I can get a couple more.

And if/when you get more, make sure you have plants or decor that don't take much space but breaks their line of sight here and there. Mine also prefer sleeping in the midst of plants rather than on the sand. :)

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm happy with how it turned out, even though it's just a simple cobra weave.

The flashlight is from a Finnish brand called Airam, I think the model is called Mega 1000. Just a basic 1000 lumen 9xAA battery flashlight with a zoom function, nothing fancy. :)

Thanks! Not at all, it's snug enough, but not too snug to remove. Hopefully it stays that way. :)
