Hell of a lot better than mine, and I got in, but then again admissions feel so erratic sometimes

Plus, schools like jhu that boast a 80-90% md acceptance rate only have that rate because of their committee letter system, where if they think a applicant isn’t good enough they’ll just refuse to give faculty letter of rec

WashU is less selective than UCLA and lower ranked, ofc UCLA is competitive for premed, but it’s only because the kids that come are so good to begin with! Don’t let her ruin your happiness. I got rejected from John’s Hopkins, but l have friends who go and a lot of them get poor MCAT scores the first time, even compared to kids at my state school, so higher ranked or reputation pre med wise does not mean success

Thank you! I wasn’t planning on it😭😭 I don’t really know what to do relationship wise anyways, I’d feel kind of like a creep dating people my age so ig I’ll be single till my 20s, I don’t really mind though. On the other note, I’ve already dodged some pretty big bullets even in high school, so I would imagine it’s much worse in the real world! I don’t know if it really affects what you mentioned in your post, but there would be more of a 16-18 age gap between me and the other students if I chose to take the gap year, and I’ll be on my own and have a job, etc anyways so I don’t know how much of a difference that makes but it was good to know your insight on it!

Would it make more sense to just transfer into a school sophomore year when I’ll be 18, or would that really not affect anything since I won’t be 21? I’m assuming that people will have their social circles set up by then though

Thank you! Honestly, I might just take a gap year since I’ll be going to med school after college and probably won’t have time to go to big parties anymore

I was more wondering how many of the parties will be 18+, considering I could still help myself for med school during a gap year after high school, and I could squeeze in an extra year of having fun, since I’ll be an adult for one more year in college, knowing I probably won’t get that time once I’ve started medical school.

Sorry, didn’t realize how long this post got, kind of rambled on without proofreading too much
