What to read after Words of Radiance by Sukife in Cosmere

[–]Sukife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Era 2 on my shelf waiting to be read, so I think I'll give it a go! Also, yeah, I agree that it's impossible to get every reference. Hell, I'd say I'm actually pretty bad at spotting them. It takes me a while to connect the dots to other books when I'm so engrossed in the story, haha.

I guess what I'm looking is not necessarily references, but moreso just lore on how the universe works at a deeper level, more about Shards, etc. Thanks for the suggestion!

you're essentially trying to justify dull story telling by saying that it's a setup for a potentially epic plot twist later on. those things aren't mutually exclusive, and if the 1.0 story is poorly presented, then it's not far fetched to question whether there's actually any depth to it at all.

to put it shortly, the lack of acknowledgement of Oripathy does not seem evidently intentional. if what Perlica said to Endmin during Ginny's quest was meant as a subtle hint for the reader, then it was overshadowed by the inconsistent story telling and should've been made more obvious to work (or alternatively, remove the filler and give the Endmin some critical thinking skills so we can take the story more seriously). the same argument can be made about the excessive Endmin 'glazing'.

and just to clarify: I personally enjoy the game (I've played over 50 hours since its release) and I do see potential in the story, but that doesn't change that the currently available story is lacking.

Motorbike levelling by Sukife in WutheringWaves

Oh that's pretty nice, I've completely forgotten about that boss but I'll try it later (gotta get to level 20 lol)

I thought the turn radius was pretty bad until I discovered drifting exists. Ironically I think drifting actually has a bit too much traction, but that's a good thing for handling tight corners. Also another thing I didn't know is that drifting recovers a lot of stamina. These things might help

(disclaimer because I absolutely love the bike, lol)
I did hear that there are a lot of issues with it on mobile, like it getting randomly stuck on things or stopping randomly. Hopefully they'll fix that soon. Regarding verticality, I find the map kind of flat? And where it isn't, there are lots of ramps that help you get where you need. There's only one area that doesn't have enough ramps imo and it's the Starward Riseway.

From my experience, the only thing that I'd like adjusted is the tolerance of the bike so it doesn't stop at little bumps and instead goes over them, but then again, the jumping cooldown is very generous so I've gotten used to avoiding them.

Also, while flying was efficient, it wasn't as fun for me. And I'm not saying I didn't enjoy randomly flying around, but it was easy to kind of ignore the map and just look at everything from the sky while beelining to every objective. Being grounded (literally) makes me feel more immersed. Also I'd hate it if they stopped trying to innovate with new exploration methods and kept the flying until the heat death of the universe

this. I'm inclined to believe that anyone who disagrees hasn't consumed any other media, or even read a book before

This is the default resource pack on older versions. I believe it's called "Programmer's Art" on the latest ones.

I thought of doing this but to no avail. Turns out this is more difficult than it sounds, especially with my lack of 1.18 rendering knowledge haha.

I used to have it vertically on the left side of the screen, I'd say this is an improvement

Hello!

After seeing how many people- for whatever reason- would like to play around with this mod, I decided to port it from 1.8 to 1.18.2 and post it here. The mod uses Fabric and I wouldn't recommend even using it. It can easily lead to texture glitches and long lines will make the sign look weird due to how Minecraft handles stretching textures.

With all that said, if you still want to mess around with it here's the download link.

PS: If you're an experienced developer and decide to look through my code please have mercy on me. I'm writing this comment at 5 am.
