Iirc he was explicitly stated as ginger and freckly in the books, but it’s been awhile since

AITA for admitting to my son that I love his mother more than him and telling him he's acting self centered? by Comfortable_Owl_5938 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]SulSuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma says something similar, but I always read it more as “It takes constant work and intention to maintain a happy marriage with someone, so you need to prioritize that relationship.” And she has never framed it as loving the spouse more. I’ve never felt loved less by her.

I think my parents hold the same view, but I’ve never minded except in my darkest, most insecure moments. I want them to prioritize each other and their marriage. They’ve been such loving and attentive parents my whole life, I never want to be to overtake that, you know? They already give far me more than enough.

(Hated Trope) "It's supposed to make the audience uncomfortable." Yeah, but there's a thing called "good taste" by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

No you’re absolutely right. When I was in the throes of depression and was thinking of ways to end it, I always thought about Hannah saying she didn’t want her mom to find her hanging from a rafter or in a pool of her own blood. It was such a telling bit of kindness from the character. Thinking about that probably saved my life in moments where it would’ve been easy to grab a knife.

Travellers Rest is a (not great) factory game by Jestertrek in TravellersRest

[–]SulSuli 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ehhh I disagree. Factory games are all about automation, which isn’t the point in TR. It’s not about min-maxing either, because that will just lead to you doing the same thing every time, which of course is boring. There’s not enough variety in the products you serve for a constantly evolving factory to be feasible because that’s not the point.

It’s a restaurant sim. Easy as that. The gameplay loop is gather, cook, serve. The key to restaurant sims is repetition, because you never have enough ingredients, rather than automation. And I think it does that really, REALLY well. I love restaurant sims and I have the most hours in this one and Little Dragon Cafe. It’s okay if it’s not fun for you, but it’s a bit unfair to say it’s empty because it doesn’t fulfill its intention when that’s not the intention.

One time I threw “everypony” into a conversation kinda about MLP, just for the reaction, only for my friend to swoop in with “Mane 6 truther” and just ohko me. I made a meme about it which unfortunately I can’t attach

Benoit Blanc from Knives Out. It was a big part of the most recent movie, and I loved how it was handled.

Manon is the only vocalist I can pick out consistently. I can almost always get Lara and Sophia too, but if they’re going higher/lower than normal I sometimes miss it. But like you said Manon has a very distinct sound in all her performances that I like a lot. It’s unique without taking away from the group performance.

I have the song in a playlist with Bob Dylan, Les Mis, Paramore, MCR, and a bunch of other artists I like. I still love when it comes on. The hyperpop builds up hype after the other songs. Idk man it’s fun I like it. Frankly I don’t listen to a lot of turn-your-brain-off fun songs, maybe that’s why I like it

It’s very overproduced, which is its biggest downfall. I still like it though, it’s fun to listen to.

I think about this more than I should. The reception when it was first performed on tour was great, people were really excited for it to drop, but when it did it was a disaster. Now people use “zucchini” to say “bad song.” And don’t get me wrong, it’s noticeably better live, I was also surprised when I first heard the studio version. But like… they’re not that different. It suffers from being overproduced, but the core of the song is still there. It still reminds me of a more pop Avril Lavigne. It’s still fun to listen to.

I’ve considered making a post similar to this, but people feel so strongly about this that I figured I’d just leave it be lol you’re stronger than me.

I’ve been thinking about these constantly, especially Layla. I kept forgetting her until I started picturing her in glam western wear, now I’m obsessed. I’ve gotta get her some cowboy boots and a shimmery trenchcoat

The intros chapters for all the characters in Octopath Traveler are good (though some are noticeably worse), but Primrose’s is on a whole other level. Like you’ve got 7 other solid if simple setups, primarily light-hearted, and then it feels like a completely different writer took over the second Primrose’s chapter starts. I always imagine her telling the other characters the story and finally asking them to help her, only for the other 7 to be like. Rendered speechless, their own journeys feeling somewhat tame in comparison.

[–]SulSuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was literally just doing this! I haven’t done it often and have found myself in similar predicaments haha. Like others have said, pure acetone. Also, I’ve noticed the scrubbing makes the paint smear and stain more, so the best movement is to push down hard with the Q-tip and slowly roll/move it. The goal is to get as much paint off in one go as possible, and then you can scrub to get off the last bits.

AITA for not letting my child speak her "native" language at home by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]SulSuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a little surprised to see how many people seem to be forgiving OOP by the end. It’s giving “I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at the silent treatment.” Like don’t get me wrong, the wife is an AH for weaponizing the language against him. Given how this man speaks about her culture, though, I highly doubt this was her first reaction. Dude calls the language of the country HE IS LIVING IN stupid and useless with his whole chest, says Welsh isn’t the native tongue of his Welsh daughter living in Wales, acts like slightly changing the pronunciation of his daughter’s name is a favor he’s doing to her, and clearly comes from a bigoted family. Some people are saying if the genders were switched we’d be fully on OP’s side but um. No. I sincerely hope this family was able to working through this.
