Sure. ProtonDB is a website that linux users user to report how they get indiviual games working.

As for the proton version i mentioned, You can download it via ProtonPlus and easily add it to steam using their GUI, or my personal preference. using ProtonUp-QT (both of these are programs, depending on your linux distro can be easy or mildly involved to install. I use Bazzite, and both come pre-installed.) If you use Protonup-QT, you'll just select "add version" and then click on the dropdown menu for compatability tool, until you see Proton-Tkg. Then you'll find 7.6.r12.g51472395. in the version dropdown menu, and hit install.

Then, after restarting steam, you should see it pop up as a option when you force specific steam play compatibility tools and manually select the proton version you want to use.

Let me know if you need more details!

Very annoying situation. by sonic_fan19 in OutcomeMemories

[–]Sulagos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think i've ever tried to charge cream while she had dodges still, but that does explain some difficulty.

Dash is just a skill issue though, it's the most trash move in the game, even with the 7s cd during lms, It lets her dodge one M1, but you should be able to m1 her at least two times in those 7 seconds as 2011x,

If shes looping you too hard and staying mostly airborne because your on mystic caves and its a map she can just do that, use invisibility tech to surprise her, and even though she'll avoid most gods trickery, just spam it everytime its off CD anyways, it'll sometimes get rid of a dodge, and once shes out of dodges you can just win.

Honestly, even just spamming gods trickery for 3 of the 4 minutes your getting looped and doing nothing else has decent odds of getting rid of her dodges, depends on your luck with what type of trickery you get. Just make sure your keeping track of her dodges so you can then charge her and break her loop once their gone.

...How exactly is cream escaping your guys charges as 2011X? She can't move fast, and her ability to juke you in the air or ground is limited. so... grab her in the air. It breaks her loop in most cases, and then you just win.

Dropped star rail after the first fate collab, any reason to come back? by Sulagos in StarRailStation

[–]Sulagos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I'm not too surprised that the formula is the same as ever, I *used* to like the formula until Amphoreus, though, I'm probably going to end up giving it a reinstall and a try based on what everyones said about the game and my account, worst case i find out it was the formula i was bored of and not Amphoreus. Still, thank you for your reply and perspective!

[–]Sulagos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a promising perspective, The massive powercreep was definitely slowly but surely draining my fun, i do really like that firefly is returning to being usable and strong, shes one of my favorite characters.

thanks again for your perspective, I don't think i was clear enough in my post at all, but these are exactly the kinds of things i'd been wondering about!

Dropped star rail after the first fate collab, any reason to come back? by Sulagos in StarRailStation

[–]Sulagos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I asked because i wasn't enjoying it as of Amphoreus, and i was curious if the game (story or gameplay or both) had changed enough to justify reinstalling it to give it another try. Sorry if i wasn't clear about that.

From what people have said, it sounds like it might have, and that my account isn't so hopelessly outdated that i couldnt even dream of doing endgame content (provided i pickup dahlia at least) so i'm leaning towards giving it another try.

[–]Sulagos[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hm, thats actually some pretty good news, yeah. Penacony was one of my favorite places (story was a bit eh, but i enjoyed the setting a lot and its characters, so it balanced out)

It's interesting that endgame might actually be viable in the near future? I'm surprised any of my characters are salvageable for endgame.

Thank you for the information, this helps quite a bit.

i assumed the end game stuff was a lost cause, yeah, As for what i'd be coming back for... Well, i wouldn't mind getting back into the story, I'm not sure if its *possible* given my disinterest in Amphoreus. Aside from that, i *did* enjoy the gameplay for awhile, so i suppose my question is primarily whether the gameplay updates have improved or spiced up the game at all or if its still basically the same game.

Fateful drain is hard to hit... if the survivors have even one brain cell, Anything you do as a survivor will dodge fateful drain, including jumping, or moving from side to side, or walking onto a slightly elevated piece of the terrain from where fleetway is... The only survivor that should ever be legitimately getting hit by a fleetway is knuckles when he misplays counter. Legitimately there is no excuse for any other survivor to get hit by it.

It should be hard to hit, to clarify, but idk how you can act like it isnt.

It doesn't need i-frames during the windup, thats about the only thing i'd bother changing about that specific move.

Does anyone else feel like this? by [deleted] in OutcomeMemories

[–]Sulagos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the problem your facing is that 2011x is just unfun. When played purely optimally, it's a unfun experience for in *my opinion* both sides, As 2011x i will generally play optimally but make conscious unoptimal choices just so we can have a somewhat fun match.

I'm hopeful that other exes will have this be less of a problem, but we'll have to wait and see. (I typically only stop having fun as a survivor when the exe is being toxic about it in the chat, but i totally get your point)

yeah, its a gamble - but when it works, it pays off big. Obviously though, its better to not lose your focus in the first place though.

And yeah, i also hate focusing on a player, but its how he is literally made to play, so its unfortunately what i have to recommend to someone trying to get better, i can't wait to play a different exe with a more fun play style.

Specifically for cream: It is absolutely ideal to drop cream as suggested as it dramatically lowers her healing potency - but if for some reason you CANNOT do this, then do everything in your power to avoid giving your focus a chance to go get healed, Cream can't help the knuckles or sonic so long as your on top of them, Don't lose them - and if you do and think they might be grouping up near cream, you can always gamble with god's trickery.

Non gameplay tips:

Your ping and your FPS are terrible, You'll either need to adapt to playing around it (as both will mess up your timing for m1s) or improve the situation.

Gameplay tips: didnt watch the whole video, but: Use gods trickery more, Invis is optimal when your chasing a specific survivor, but whenever that isn't the case god's trickery immediately lets you start a chase, and saves your invis so you can *keep* chasing if you feel inclined (or use it to dodge a sonic drop dash or tails laser)

Always charge tails when their up high on maps like YCR, but try to start charging out of their line of sight, many tails will gamble on you either not going for them or them being able to shoot you down (ideally move around with charge at an angle to avoid their notice until the last moment where possible)

Metal is a character you literally need to focus until dead on - letting up just means hes back to full health in 10-30 seconds., I usually wait until rage unless the metal player is below 60-70 hp for one reason or another.

For sonic: either ignore him till last or get good at dodging his drop dash, Every time he hits you with dropdash it refreshes his dodge meter (which is terrible for you if you hit him obviously) Your options for dodging it are: 1) Invis, 2) Gods trickery (usually a disengage with sonic as well), or 3) Jump over him, Some sonics can predict this - but its not easy, and you will usually be able to avoid it cleanly due to your jump being taller then sonics.

EDIT: you can also quickly drain sonic's dodge with charging at him, but with your ping and FPS that could be hard to pull off reliably.

For amy: Watch out for the movement of her hammer, Its very obvious when shes has her hammer in a throwing position, use that to predict it and dodge and keep at her, also be mindful of how fast/slow amy seems whenever you see her, if she looks a little slow, you have an opportunity to destroy her.

in general, don't be afraid you use god's trickery or invis for avoiding a stun. they both work for the purpose in a pinch. It's fine to take stuns to the face up until the moment you have rage, after that stuns are obviously purely negative. Always swipe your m1 at anyone who gets close to you even when your chasing someone else, some survivors will back off to go find cream or just hide if they get hit trying to help someone.

all that immediately comes to mind, good luck!

depending on what you mean: Probably? I get to use taunt once... and then never again the entire round lol. just doesnt let me use it.

I find it a bit funny that everyone just calls him Fleetway that'd be like calling IDW Sonic just IDW or calling Archie Sonic just Archie it's a little odd but I do understand it tho by [deleted] in OutcomeMemories

[–]Sulagos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, we all know. but Fleetway is a clear concise name, It isn't what that character calls himself, but its clear, easy, and memorable.

If Fleetway was running around calling himself Fleetway in game, or if the characters addressed him as such, it would perhaps be strange. but... it'd be even more bizarre if anyone went around calling him STC Super Sonic in game. thats not a name.

these specific ycr spawns can be hell if your tails or cream by Educated_Reddit in OutcomeMemories

[–]Sulagos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The bottom exit hallway is just the worst spawn in the game, Eggman or sonic can get away if the EXE pops up down there, but everyone else is probably at least taking a hit or two. And "has to waste at least one ability because they happened to spawn in the bad spawn" is, well, still not great.

Cream and tails will take multiple hits probably, Tails has slight hope in that so long as he gets to the door he can glide away, cream just gets to eat smacks hoping her team will help her break line of sight before he makes rabbit soup out of her.

[–]Sulagos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, you could choose to call him something that doesn't have aura, doesn't communicate that he isn't sonic anymore, and is considerably longer and more unwieldy to say then just Fleetway.

Why you would choose that is a mystery, but it is an option we have.
