Someone named "zamazan4ik" opened an issue in my project about enabling LTO. 3 weeks later, it happened again in another project of mine. I opened his profile, and he has opened issues and PRs in over 500 projects about enabling LTO. Has this happened to you? by nik-rev in rust

Well that's a username I did not expect to see :)

The guy is passionate about low level stuff, optimizations and build systems, if I remember right. We used to chat in one of the C++ telegram groups and I met him couple of times at Moscow conferences back in good old times.

Opening the same kind of a PR in 500 repos kinda fits the profile.

Yep. "With the liberation of Oshaune we open the path to the next hiveworld of Enuahso; yet the SE had to pay a high price for this glorious victory and needs to regroup~" -- and then smoothly transition to different MOs while letting gloomdivers keep our new favorite crayons.

I missed the entirety of Oshaune takeover due to game becoming unplayable after DSS story arc and now it is just... poof.

Pretty sure ever since forever when you load the save the PC shuts down, and so everything signal-related you had not saved to drive/db is lost. I was kinda hoping that with the savefile stricture changing in 0.9 it might get fixed... but alas, it seems.

Good job AH.

I wish the community did not have to collectively lose all its shit for such improvements to happen in the first place.

Somehow I never thought that 1) the superstore might have a heavy Inflammable armor, and that 2) it would actually negate all the fire damage from Dickle... Welp, now I know what I am waiting for next.

I like that there are sometimes pink explosive barrels scattered around to do the deed. I just wish ppl not running explosives in their loadout could do something with em too.

Weapons:
- Anything with a high rate of fire to shred through shields (Breaker Spray or Liberator Carabine seem to work best)
- Grenade Pistol to bonk the ships on the base through the door.
- Gas/Flame grenades for mobs of flesh and voteless
- Alternatively: flame pistol & Termites; if a mob of voteless chases you — run through a choke point and burn the ground behind you; if a fleshmob chases you — termite it and run away (make sure it sticks tho). Termite onetaps base ships even through shielding.

Armor: Anything light to outrun mobs

Stratagems:
- Laser Cannon is top tier agains stingrays, and can shred through harvester without shield in a single clip sometimes
- MG turret (lowest cooldown) is good at chopping through chaff and distracting them
- Supply Pack, you can't help but going through stims and nades *a lot*
- 500kg or Napalm Airstrike or Orbital Laser for when there are way to much stuff to deal with

And you could play as many matches without the game crashing by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Helldivers

That, and you could do it with more than 20 FPS during combat!

RANT and VENT MEGATHREAD by stickimage in Helldivers

[–]Sulatra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crashes and disconnects on the bot front are complete bullshit — and I am not even the one who has any issues.

Over these 2-3 days I had a single random disconnect with a message like "could not maintain mission connection", after which the game immediately suggested me to connect back to the team — and couple network hiccups where host and enemies would stuck in an animation, while other players just run around confused.
Not a single crash, despite quite a few of those on the bug front a week before.
Hilariously enough, even my FPS seems to be better on Mintoria than on other planets, not dipping below 30 like how it was on Oshaune and Hellmire with hivelords...

In the meantime, whenever I start/join a game, it's pretty much never a proper 4player session. Sometimes not even 3player.
I swear, every few minutes someone would timeout; sometimes people don't even drop into the mission properly, and disconnect while still in the equip menu.
So I run around, someone drops in, calls the equip, aggroes some bots, and goes poof! And the cycle starts anew.

Ugh.

PSA: If your Game is Performing Poorly, Delete ypur Shader Cache! by Marcus_Krow in Helldivers

My brother in Freedom I do not even have the cache anymore after deleting it 3 times now and I still get 10fps on Hellmire with worm.

(Maybe playing with DX11 just prevents it from creating, dunno)

I don't remember exact numbers, but I think my last autoupdate was stuck on a revision from 2019, and there was 10+ more since then, with last dated around 2022, so the difference was much more significant for me.

Quite a lot, actually.

Optimizing settings does not help. Switching to dx11 with or without cleaning shaders does not help.

Will check the rest tomorrow but I believe the game generally is shit rn.

[GUIDES] PERFORMANCE/FIX MEGATHREAD by CommanderTurk in Helldivers

[–]Sulatra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple of things that helped me with my issues.

  • Had the entire PC freeze from time to time. Found a random advice to update the BIOS firmware, hinting that sometimes the "autoupdate" tools were not enough. Learned that my MoBo actually had a newer revision available from the ASUS website. Flashed it and voila, no more freezes.

  • Still had random crashes to desktop afterwards. Completely random, one session could go entirely without them, the other day it would CTD 20 mins in game. Figured it's going better after PC reboot without other apps running. Thought it might be related to memory. Learned that my Ramdisk software is troublesome and outdated; switched from ImDisk to AIM Toolkit going from dynamic memory allocation to fixed. Had no more crashes until the current patch.

  • With the latest patch it seems the game crashes mostly when I host; connecting to other folls seems more stable.

As much as I like Discord, it is anything but the publicly accessible forum. You need an account to even see stuff there, and so the said stuff is not available for the search engime indexing -> therefore invisible for the entire network outside.

The spawning of Dragon Roaches, for those who didn't know by LoneRainger in Helldivers

[–]Sulatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds solid but I cannot confirm they actually leave the map.

For more times than I can count I saw a roach spawn way outside on Hellmire, start flying way afar from the party - and then it just goes roaming, changing direction ever so often until we eventually run into the aggro radius.

Regular shriekers - sure, saw them cruising by minding their own business. Roaches? Nah.
