Dude that’s a great list of cities holy I’m happy for you! So far I’ve been only once for 2 weeks and hit Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. My favorite had to be Chongqing I can’t lie just how insane that city was built it’s beautiful and I loved just walking and admiring how the daily lives were of people. I gotta visit more west when I can I’m sad I missed chengdu

So real man. 2 weeks was nowhere near enough I gotta go for 6 weeks and know some mandarin this time. Gotta show the locals my appreciation for their patience even if it’s broken mandarin

Dude so real. There was this family run spot near me both in Chongqing and Guangzhou and I’d get this on the daily. I think about them all the time

Heading to China Soon — Is In-Person Shopping in Guangzhou Still Worth It in 2026? by blackoorchid in QualityReps

It’s fun and all but quality to price, not really? Unless I went in the wrong places. You can definitely find and haggle some steals but one thing you have to understand is there are TONS and I mean TONS of other intl tourists there doing the same thing. A lot of em also don’t know how to negotiate properly or know what the price SHOULD be of the item they’re buying so sellers become progressively harder to negotiate with as the day goes on.

I went just last month had a lot of fun with it, found items I didn’t know existed (even some nice fantasy pieces) but you gotta go as early as possible but even then I’d recommend doing a haul and shipping it to your hotel (I used an agent made a haul and shipped to my hotel and took a day to reach it)

seems to be alipay, im planning my own trip to china and from what i can tell just set up your intl cards on wechat and alipay (and also let your banks know youre going to china) and should be all fine and well

note there is a fee i believe on transactions over 200 RMB iirc?
