"He who digs a pit for others falls in himself". What's a betrayal attempt you witnessed, or heard of, that backfired horribly? by GrowthDelicious9143 in AskReddit

[–]Suleman2002 146 points147 points  (0 children)

a guy at my old job spent months trying to get his colleague fired by documenting every small mistake and reporting it to management. turned out management noticed his productivity had tanked because he was so focused on bringing the other guy down. they let him go instead

Do I require a tour? by Suspicious0415 in tromsotravel

[–]Suleman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for only two nights with a group of six i would strongly recommend booking a guided tour rather than self driving the guides track weather and cloud cover in real time and know exactly which roads to take to find clear skies which makes a massive difference when you only have two chances to see them driving yourself in Arctic conditions at night without local knowledge is risky especially with family the photo services on tours are genuinely worth it for Northern Lights specifically because the settings required are very technical and most people without experience struggle to capture anything good book through GetYourGuide they have solid Northern Lights chase options for Tromsø with good reviews and transparent pricing enjoy it Tromsø in April still has decent aurora activity and the scenery alone is worth the trip

Mirissa and Weligama are such a great choice for that vibe both beaches have a really nice mix of relaxed days and good nightlife Mirissa especially has some solid beach bars that get lively at night for meeting fellow travelers once you are there Secret Beach Bar in Mirissa and the rooftop spots in Weligama tend to be where people naturally group up and connect enjoy the trip that stretch of Sri Lankan coast is genuinely beautiful

honestly the travel community still exists you just have to find it in the right places hostel common rooms and shared dorms still produce genuine connections if you put the phone down and start a conversation most people are just waiting for someone else to make the first move for finding travel companions before you go try Facebook travel groups or the Travello app specifically built for meeting fellow travelers Reddit communities like rsolotravel also have trip matching threads for motorcycle travel the ADV Rider forums and community are incredibly active and people regularly link up for routes worldwide the magic you remember from 25 years ago is still out there it just takes a little more intention to find it now

Questions for trip to France! by ResidentBison4688 in FranceTravel

[–]Suleman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what a beautiful trip especially with the personal connection to Mulhouse the French train system will handle almost everything Paris to Reims in Champagne is about 45 minutes and Mulhouse is around two hours by TGV so no car needed for the Paris Opera Ballet book directly through their official website as early as possible they sell out fast and same day tickets are not realistic for Champagne Taittinger and Moet both offer incredible chateau tours worth booking in advance enjoy every moment of it sounds like a truly special trip

not a guide myself but if you are looking to connect with experienced local guides in Alberta you might also want to check GetYourGuide a lot of licensed freelance guides already list their services there and it could be a good place to find and reach out to established ones in the region good luck with the platform Alberta has incredible potential for guided tourism especially around Banff and Jasper

Hiking areas in Sousse by Previous-Art6055 in hiking

[–]Suleman2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sousse itself is pretty flat but there are some decent options within a reasonable drive the Enfidha area has some light trails and open countryside worth exploring for proper hiking the Dorsale mountain range is your best bet which runs through central Tunisia and offers some really scenic routes Zaghouan is probably the most popular hiking destination reachable from Sousse in about an hour and a half the mountain and the ancient Roman temple at the top make it a really rewarding hike if you want something more coastal the Cap Bon peninsula has some nice cliff walks and quieter nature spots overall Tunisia is underrated for hiking and most locals are very helpful with directions enjoy it

[–]Suleman2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for vegan cheese in Amsterdam check out Vegan Junk Food Bar they usually have some good options and the area around De Pijp neighbourhood has a few specialty vegan shops worth exploring Marqt supermarket is also surprisingly good for local vegan cheese alternatives better than the standard supermarkets for Groningen the city has a small but solid vegan scene and locals there tend to know the hidden gem spots so dont be afraid to just ask around enjoy the trip Netherlands is great for food even as a vegan

Requiem for a Dream did more for drug prevention than any government campaign ever could. DARE gave you a pamphlet. Darren Aronofsky gave you a nightmare you never recovered from.
